"Ow! Be careful, Kaga! That stings!" Mio whimpered as Kaga clumsily shifted, her hands glowing a vibrant yellow light, eyes completely gold. "Sorry," she mumbled, concentrating on mending Mio's sprained ligament in his arm. "You know healing magic isn't really my thing..." she pouted as Mio fixed her with a stare. "Yeah well, you're the only healer here, so maybe you should get better at it." Arlo experimentally swung his mace nearby, double-checking its balance. "How does one injure themselves when they weren't near the enemy anyway, little one?" Arlo questioned, raising an inquisitive eyebrow at the two. Mio looked back incredulously. "Do you know how hard it is to pull back a composite bow's string all the way? Ow!" he yelped in mid explanation. "Sorry!" Kaga squeaked again, redoubling her efforts. Arlo raised a hand. "I am sorry. It just didn't make sense to me, you know?" Mio scoffed, mumbling under his breath.
The light dimmed from Kaga's hands, and she stood up. "All right! That sprain's all cleared up now, but it'll probably feel a bit numb." Mio rubbed his arm, then grunted, standing up. Kaga looked towards Arlo questioningly. "You need heals too, big guy?" he shook his head, then made a show of exaggerated flexing. "No need! Arlo is big, strong man! Korbloxians were unable to hurt me! Hah! Too puny to hurt me!"Mio glanced up toward him, raising an eyebrow. "Doesn't hurt that they couldn't really fight back, either." Arlo bellowed out a laugh mid-flex, while Kaga snorted. Suddenly, Mio's light-hearted expression darkened, became focused and serious. Arlo and Kaga instantly picked up on the shift in mood, and readied themselves. "Something's coming." Mio cocked his head, then quickly notched an arrow. "Something big."
Kaga could hear it too. Thunderous pounds of something heavy slamming onto stone repeatedly. Whatever it was, it was big and heavy enough that the snow could not support its weight, and its feet were slamming against the stone underneath. Then she could see it: a huge shadow emerging from the blizzard, unhurriedly making its way towards them. "What the hell is that?" Mio's shocked whisper reached Kaga's ears, and she was unable to respond. As it got closer, the details of the abomination could be seen. It was a huge skeleton. Easily dwarfing Arlo, its size intimidated the trio. Bits and pieces of armor hung from its frame, though Kaga could see that, while most of it was limp and holding onto the skeleton with nothing but some straps and linen, there were pieces connected solidly to it on its joints. Covering for its weakest points, Kaga noted mentally. On either hand were huge gauntlets covered in spikes, and looked like they each weighed a ton. Each step caused its arms to swing lifelessly, though Kaga didn't doubt that it could launch its fists with incredible speed and power.
Two pin-pricks of light were settled in the back of its eye sockets, and it gazed at each of them, before letting loose a horrific battle-cry. The noise was intense, and it caused the three of them to cover their ears in pain. Mio looked at Arlo, his eyes wide, "What was that about them being puny, Arlo?" shouting through the Korbloxian's roar. The massive Korbloxian immediately took this as a chance to charge in, closing the remaining distance far quicker than Kaga expected. Cursing, Mio uncovered his ears, picked up the arrow he had dropped, notched it, and shot it at the skeleton, aiming for its head. It connected solidly, but it didn't seemed fazed. Realizing that arrow wasn't powerful enough, Mio immediately went to a smaller quiver on his hip containing heavier-tipped arrows. "Arlo! Intercept!" he shouted, a panicked gleam in his eyes as he behold it barreling towards them. Without hesitation, Arlo jumped in, roaring a battle cry of his own, swinging his mace. The skeleton reached out, and caught Arlo's weapon. It then leaned back, preparing to punch him with its other hand. Seeing what was about to happen, Arlo quickly lurched forward and head-butted the Korbloxian.
Immediately, he reared backwards in pain, groaning at the stabbing pain in his head, but Arlo's attack had its intended effect. The Korbloxian stumbled back for a moment, briefly stunned. Arlo immediately shook his head, ripped his mace from its gauntlet, then went on the offensive. Whipping around in a counter-clockwise motion, he struck the Korbloxian in the side of its head, while punching it in the chest as hard as he could. It stumbled back from the force of the blows, but else looked completely unharmed. While Arlo growled in frustration, Mio had notched one of his heavy arrows. "Move, Arlo!" he shouted as he let loose the heavy projectile. Arlo needed no further warning and quickly ducked down. The arrow struck the Korbloxian's left shoulder-guard, and the force of the projectile destroyed the armor. This caused the Korbloxian to look at its now open shoulder-joint in shock, which then turned to rage.
