Callisto slowly and quietly closed the Common Room doorway behind her, and when she turned around, right in front of her face, stood straight and tall none other than Lucius, blocking her path to her dormitory. He startled her to the point where she felt like she could have had a heart stroke.

"Lucius! You scared me!" She chuckled nervously, placing her hand on her chest.

"Sneaking out?" he said, sternly. "Let me guess... With the small group of good for nothing bandits?"

"Lucius, I-"

"Or should I say... with one of them?" his cold piercing glare made Callisto feel like it was burning holes into her skull. "So, you and Lupin, huh?" he spat.

"The last time I checked, I am able of deciding on who I'm going to hang out with by myself." she crossed her arms.

"I have been like a brother to you for almost six years!" he yelled. "You betray me!- With those scums! Blood traitors! All these years- I have been trying to lead you to the good side! You don't respect any of it! Everything I have done to keep you away from those fools, you throw it in the water!"

"Stop yelling Lucius, you will get us in trouble!-"

"I'm the prefect of this house, I can do whatever the bloody hell I wish to!" he stomps his foot. "Upstairs and into your dorm... Now!!!" he pointed his finger towards the stairs, his face livid, in pure rage.

Callisto decided it was best not to mess with him in a situation like this, so she just ran upstairs once again, but this time, in tears.

-----

It had been quite a while now, and Callisto has become significantly closer to the group of Gryffindor boys, since that fight with Lucius. They would still talk, but really nothing important at all. He was mostly the one to ignore her, even sometimes he would act like he didn't see her walking right past him through the corridors. Only when he had no other choice, he would speak to her; whenever she would come up to him, or in class, school related stuff.

However, Sirius, James, Remus and Peter would always find a way to talk to her more often, invited her to sit with them in classes, or during breaks.

Callisto learned a lot about the boys. They called themselves the Marauders, and they had their own separate nicknames. Sirius was Padfoot, James was Prongs, Remus was Moony, and Peter was Wormtail. What an assembly of odd nicknames, she thought to herself.

It was one very gloomy afternoon, when she was interrupted from her reading, right outside the castle.

"Remus! You scared me-" she laughed, and carefully placed the now closed book on her lap, before looking up at Remus.

"Sorry, that was not my intention at all. I just saw you sitting over here alone, and decided to accompany you. But then, as I got closer, I saw you reading, so I couldn't help but take a look at what you were reading, before I said hello." He chuckled, while scratching the back of his neck.

"Oh, it's all right." Callisto smiled at him, and he seemed to calm down almost instantly after seeing her smile.

"May I sit?" He asked.

"Absolutely!" Callisto moved over a little, making him some space to sit.

After that, they had been talking for what seemed like minutes to them, but in reality, hours had passed. It was nearly nightfall, and they were still very much occupied by their similarities, constantly finding new subject they shared the same opinions on.

The beautiful colors of the sunset caught Callisto's attention, and she sighed at the view. They were sitting near the lake, right down the hill from the Whomping Willow, admiring the last minutes of the daylight. It all seemed so calm, when Remus jumped into his seat, looking around and then at Callisto.

"Callisto, I'm sorry, it was nice talking to you, but-" he looked at the sun, almost gone into the horizon. "I- I have to go." he quickly got up, followed by a very confused Callisto.

"Wait! What happened?" she was far short behind him.

He stopped pacing, turning around with a deep sigh following up. "It's curfew, you need to go back." he then continued, but oddly enough, walking right into the Whomping Willow.

"Remus!" She shouted, before he threw a spell onto the enormous tree and walking right inside the small gap between the monstrous roots.

Callisto ran his way, but to her misfortune, Remus' spell has perished, and the horrifying tree came to life again, whipping one of it's thick long branches right into her, which threw her ten meters back. She tumbled down the small hill, through the dead bushes. Right before she thought she would land on even grounds without any serious injuries, she hit her head on a random rock in the way.

She looked at the now already risen moon high up in the sky above her, and heard a distant inhuman howl, right before passing out right there, back by the lake.
