My alarm starts blaring the annoying default sound that comes on the iPhone. The hatred I have for this sound is beyond words. It's on a different level of hate. It's more than I hate Bates Vanderbilt, and that's a lot.

I look at the time on my phone: 5:00 a.m.

I know, I know, why is my alarm set so early? Well, it's become a habit of mine. Everyday before school starts, I get up and run. I hate running when someone tells me to run, but I love it when I choose to run on my own. I have control over myself and it gives me a feeling of freedom.

I brush my hair out and pull it back up into a ponytail. Then I put on the workout clothes I wore on Saturday and I grab a pair of Adidas sneakers and walk out of my room. I wrap my armband around my arm and put my earbuds in. I play some music, put my phone in my armband and go downstairs.

One of the other reasons I love going out this early to run is because it's at the break of day. It's cool outside, quiet, and calm. Just like how life should be. As soon as my feet hit the ground outside, I start running.

I haven't ran in forever and it feels so good to be running again. I don't really know the school grounds that well so I just go wherever I see a trail.

I follow one through the woods and I stay on it. The trail is flat and it isn't too hard to run on.

When I reach the end of the trail, I notice I'm only a bit away from the building. I continue my run towards it and when I get to the doors, I take my phone out of my armband. 6:04. An hour, not too bad. I start noticing students walking around and I head inside before I have to actually talk to someone.

I take the stairs in an effort to get in some more steps because I still have the energy to. I open the door to my floor using the key card and I notice Bates coming out of Lindsey's room. She's giggling and putting her arms around him.

I walk past the two and I hear her mutter, "Skank." Just ignore it, Genevieve. "We don't allow sluts in the school."

I put the key into the lock on my door, but before I walk in, I yell back to her without even looking at her, "Why are you here then?" I close the door behind me without paying anymore attention to her.

I take a shower and get ready. I put on my makeup and do my hair, I look in the mirror at myself, "First day of school, Genevieve!" I pause for a second, "Oh fuck me, I hate this."

I grab my outfit out of my wardrobe and I put it on. Each year has different uniforms and the junior girls have white blouses, black skirts, and we were given the choice of black tights or socks. I decided with the black socks that are knee-high and a pair of black Louboutin pumps. I grab a red headband from my vanity and slide on the top of my head.

I look at myself in the mirror and the uniform isn't actually bad. I actually like it, a lot. The sophomores wear red, I believe and the freshman wear white. I don't know how they're pulling that off, but bless their hearts. The seniors wear all black, which I hate. Funeral vibes, much?
