A few days later, I was catapulted into work once more; one of my clients was fortunate enough to snag a last-minute invitation to a fashion show. I was annoyed and anxious about how little time I would have to work, but the idea that important people in the fashion world might see my work was all I needed to get the job done.

Jada was a relatively new client; she had sent me a message on social media, asking for my help and I was happy to be of assistance. However, I'd mostly styled her for parties and other social events; never for anything as high profile as a fashion show. I only had until seven in the evening to figure everything out, but I found myself procrastinating under the pressure. Finally, an hour into my clothing search, I came up with an idea that I believed would suit her perfectly. I called her and asked her to meet me in the place where my career had begun; the studio that Ms. Fox operated out of. Over time, Linda had given me more privileges; including a key to the building for when I had to prepare ahead of time.

The wardrobe at the studio was filled with many items, some that I had picked for clients but never ended up using; and one of those pieces was perfect for Jada. I arrived at the studio around the same time that she did and ushered her in through the side door. I waved to the few people who were around, then took her into the wardrobe.

"Please tell me that you're still okay about color." I chuckled as I filed through the countless outfits in front of me.

Jada smiled and nodded, "I'm okay with everything, you've never steered me wrong before."

I felt my chest warm with pride at her words, then pulled the jumper out for her. I slung it over my shoulder and moved onto accessories, when I was satisfied, I handed the ensemble to her and let her try it on. When she reemerged, Jada gave me a thumbs up in approval.

"You like it?" I asked her, though it seemed quite clear already

"You like it?" I asked her, though it seemed quite clear already.

She nodded, "I love! Thank you for coming through for me in such short notice."

"Thanks for trusting me." I smiled and felt my shoulders sag with relief. "Because this is coming from the studio, I'm gonna need you to sign something to the tune of 'you break it, you buy it'. Are you okay with that?"

Jada nodded again. "I'll guard everything with my life! Thank you Zana!"

I smiled once more before grabbing the inventory sheet as well as a release form. I signed and dated the inventory sheet, then the release form before passing it to Jada. Though she was signing it, I would be the only one held accountable for damages for obvious reasons.

"Okay, you're set. Why don't you get changed, then we can head out?" I suggested.

Within the next two hours, Jada and I were seated in a hotel room while someone did her makeup; I'd stayed to help her get dressed as well as to make any last-minute adjusting if needed. We chatted every now and then, though for the most part my attention was on the messages that Jibri and I were exchanging. He'd said that he wanted to take me on "the first date that we never had" to officially celebrate the rebirth of our relationship, and we were trying to see when our schedules would allow it. I also tried to tell him that we didn't need to do anything fancy; truthfully, I would've loved to just stay in with him and enjoy some quality time together.
