"Jeon Jungkook!"
Jungkook awoke to the sounds of his door suddenly opening and his father stepping into his room furiously. The girl sleeping beside him stirred awake because of the commotion and once she realized who suddenly barged in, she hurriedly gathered the sheets to cover her naked frame, embarrassment flooding her senses.
Jungkook, on the other hand, seems to be unborthed and groaned in annoyance as he sat up. "What the fuck do you want, father?" Jungkook said as he stretched, the muscles on his arms flexing.
"Get your little slut out of this palace before I sentence her to death and meet me in my chambers. We have something important to discuss." His father said in disgust, eyeing them one last time before slamming the door behind him.
Jungkook let out an exasperated sigh as he slumped back down his bed, his right arm draping over his eyes, feeling too lazy to stand up.
"You heard the man, you should leave before he kills you." Jungkook said, unfazed. "B-but, what about us?" The woman said, her voice slightly trembling. "What do you mean 'us'?" Jungkook questioned as he sat up, confused. "I thought we were a thing after all those nights..." The girl replied, earning a scoff from the prince in return, a dry chuckle escaping from his lips.
"First of all, we aren't a 'thing'. I don't even like you or know your name! Now leave." Jungkook said as he stood, his bare back facing the now crying woman, scrambling to her feet to gather her scattered clothes from last night and left.
This was just another day for Jeon Jungkook. Sleeping with women, whether it may be a servant or common folk, it didn't matter for Jungkook.
Every hole's a goal.
Jungkook sighed as he remembered that he has to meet his father in his chambers. So he dressed up, putting on a plain satin shirt on and his pants, then fixing his bed hair. And once he deemed himself presentable enough, he left his room and headed down the palace halls to his father's chambers.
"You wanted to speak to me?" Jungkook spoke as he opened the door to his father's office, the strong smell of cigar hitting his nose in an instant. Jungkook hated this smell, his face scrunching up in obvious disgust.
"Why, yes. I do. Have a seat." His father, the king, said as he motioned to the chairs in front of his desk, not even bothering to tear his eyes away from the newspaper he's reading. Jungkook complied, though secretly rolling his eyes at his father.
"What is it you wanted to talk about?" Jungkook asked the moment he sat down, wanting to leave his father's office right away. His father finally looked at him and set the newspaper he was reading aside, a cigar caught between his lips.
Jungkook always wondered why his father's lungs aren't rotting yet due to the amount of cigar he consumes daily.
"Son," he said as he puffed on his cigar, the smoke leaving his nostrils. "As we all know, there has been a brewing war between our kingdom and the north." His father said, taking in another puff of smoke. Jungkook gritted his teeth, the smell of the cigar is killing him.
"Just cut to the point, father. I can't stand being inside your damned office." Jungkook spat out as he leaned back in his chair, arms crossed on his chest.
His father gave him an annoyed look and rolled his eyes. "Very well then," he said. "Me and the Northern King have come to an agreement to have you married to his daughter, Princess Kim Seolhee."
Jungkook eyes widened at this as the color drained from his face, not knowing what to say or feel.
"I... Me... Princess..." Jungkook said as he tried to gathered his thoughts. "Me? Marrying that princess?" Jungkook asked, as if he was hoping that his own father is joking.
He knew who Kim Seolhee is. Almost everyone in the nation does. She's the Northern Kingdom's pride and joy.
A very beautiful maiden, known to be a very skilled painter. She was also known to be hard to get, hence the amount of rejections her suitors faced.
But the fact that he is getting married only means one thing.
He is being stripped from his freedom and youth. And as cliché as it sounds, Jungkook doesn't want to get tied down to someone he barely knows. Let alone has spoken to.
"Father, you can't be serious!" He said as he stood up abruptly, the chair behind him falling with a thud. "I don't want to get married, let alone get married to someone I haven't spoken to personally!" The 22 year old exclaimed.
"You can't do anything about this, Jungkook. And as future king, you should know that it is indeed necessary to make decisions like this for the sake of our kingdom-"
"Our kingdom? What about me! You didn't even ask if I wanted this in the first place." Jungkook exclaimed as he banged his fists on his father's desk.
"Jeon Jungkook," his father said with a venomous tone. "So you'd rather have the blood of our countrymen spilled? Did you ever even thought about the innocent lives of women and children? Our people will perish if the war grew. And through this marriage, it can help strengthen the bond of our nation!" His father said, following suite of Jungkook's action.
"There is nothing that you can do to change my mind. Now suck it up and leave my office if you're going to do nothing but object." He father said as he pointed harshly to the door. Jungkook let his held fall down, looking at the desk, defeated. His father was right. He can't do anything yet.
He might be the heir to the throne but he wasn't the king.
And as much as Jungkook wants to keep up a fight, he realized that this is a battle that he can't win. He knew that his father is serious about this engagement, for the sake of their people.
So with an angered heart, he turned around and hurriedly left, not forgetting to slam the door behind him, causing the guards on duty to slightly jump in surprise at the loud sound the it made.
Jungkook wished that there was another way out of this. He doesn't want to get married yet. He isn't ready for these kinds of things.
At the ripe age of 22, he still wasn't ready for commitment, hence the reason why he'd rather sleep with different people.
He just wants to do whatever he wants just like normal people on his age would do because being a prince is suffocating.
There are so many restrictions, Jungkook can't even count it. And just wishes that he's already the king. And maybe in that way, he could do anything he wants.
