"Ah, Jungkook, would you like to show our dear princess around?" The Southern King asked outloud in the middle of the feast. Jungkook looked up to him, an annoyed expression on his face. "Father, I think-"
"That sounds like a great idea! Isn't that right, my dear?" The northern king butted in, looking at his daugther, a forced smile on his face. Taehyung glanced up to him then to his sister, knowing that there is no way she can't say no. So with a sigh, he spoke. "Go ahead, Seolhee." He said softly, flashing her a reassuring smile. Seolhee looked up at him and heaved in a deep sigh, a hint of sadness in her eyes.
I never wanted this.
But she pushed those emotions away and smiled. Smiled so brightly that it almost seems too real. Almost. "I would love to, father." She said looking at her father then to the Southern family. The Sothern King then smiled widely and clapped his hands. "Delightlful!" He said, nudging his son. The prince stood up, faking a smile as well as he headed to the princess with careful strides, taking his time. Seolhee followed his every move, taking a look at his features. Surely, he is indeed blessed with great looks and a well-build stature, but nothing can erase the fact that he's a womanizer. He helped her out of her seat, and offered her a hand, still smiling. "It is an honor to show you around, mi'lady." He said sweetly, and if Seolhee were naive, she would have thought that he meant it.
But nonetheless, she took his hand and stood up, giving a small bow. "And I to you, dear prince." She said before walking away with him, leaving the dining hall.
Once they were out, big doors closing behind them, they immediately removed their hands from each other. "Finally." Seolhee said as she released a breath that she was holding. Jungkook looked at her, slightly surprised at the suddent change of attitude but shrugged it off, knowing he felt the same. "It was suffocating in there." He said, giving her a small smile. Seolhee looked at him and scowled. "Indeed, I'm going to head back now. Have a good night, Prince Jungkook." she says before walking away. "Wait, don't you want a tour around the castle?" Jungkook asked as he walked behind her. She stopped walking and turned around to face him. "With you? No thanks." She said, faking a smile before turning around and walking away from him, again. Jungkook rolled his eyes.
So she has an attitude? What did Namjoon-hyung say about her being sweet?
"You've got a lot of attitude in you despite you being small." Jungkook commented, a chuckle coming from him. Seolhee gasp, her small hand covering her mouth before turning to look at him. "I am not small! You're just too tall." She said as she glared at him.
Cute but fiesty.
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that." Jungkook said, patting her head. "From what I remember, I'm not a dog." Seolhee said as he caught his wrist and threw it aside. "Really now? Can't tell the difference." Jungkook said simply. Seolhee looked at him in disbelief and then hitting his arm, making Jungkook wince in pain. "You take that back." Seolhee said, huffing out in anger. How dare he insult him? The only animal between them is him, not her.
"What if I don't want to?" Jungkook teased, a cheeky smile on his face. Seolhee groaned in frustration and stomped away back to her room. "It's not safe walking around at night alone, princess." Jungkook said, catching up with her. "And why do you bother?" Seolhee asked irritatedly whilst Jungkook just sighed. "Because first of all, you don't live here. Do you even know where you're heading?" Jungkook asked, a smirk forming in his lips when he sees Seolhee widen her eyes in realization. "O-of course I-"
"Of course you don't." Jungkook said smugly, chin help up high as he circled around the female with his arms folded behind his back. "Second, if one of my guards, servants, or any staff from the castle sees you walking alone without me, they will surely tell that to my father and I will get in trouble and I don't want another one-hour lecture from him." He said, stopping in front of Seolhee, extending his hand towards her. "Now, allow me to walk you back to your quarters if you don't want me to tour you around the castle." Seolhee glared at his out-stretched hand and gently pushed it away. "Fine, I'll let you walk me back to my quarters but it's only because I don't want to get lost." She said as she sighed in defeat. "Very well then." Jungkook said as he turned his back to her. "Follow me, lost duckling." Jungkook said as he began to walk. "Shut up." Seolhee said as she walked behind him.
"You know, if only you weren't so mean, I would have thought that this marriage thing isn't so bad after all." Jungkook said, taking a turn. "You don't really shut up, do you?" Seolhee said, feeling annoyed out of her wits already. "Come on, it's true. You're beautiful and you're so cute whenever I annoy you." Jungkook said simply. "Wow, I'm so flattered, your majesty." Seolhee said sarcastically, doing an eye roll. "You should be, because it's true." Jungkook said as he turned to face her and gave her a wink, all that as he walked backwards. "I hope you trip." Seolhee muttered. "Would you catch me if I did trip and fall?" Jungkook asked, acting cutely by pouting his lips. "No, I'd watch you fall and break your neck." Seolhee said coldly. Jungkook clutched his heart dramatically, a pained expression on his face. "Ouch. You just broke my heart." He jokingly said. "Sure I did " The princess said as she walked passed by him.
"You can go now." She said as she walked towards her door. They've already reached her room and Jungkook didn't even noticed because he was too busy teasing her. "You're going to leave me without a good night's kiss?" Jungkook asked, feigning his best puppy dog eyes that he can muster. "In your dreams." Seolhee said before entering her room and closing the door behind her. "Well, princess. It's your lost." Jungkook said from the outside. "Get lost!" The princess exclaimed, voice muffled because of the heavy door. Jungkook but can't help but snicker. "She's quite a challenge." Jungkook said to himself as he walks back to his room, a smile on his face as he remembers his interaction with the princess.
"This is going to be fun."
