Chapter Eleven

*Erika's POV*

"What the hell was that" I yelled at her once we got outside. She had pulled me out in front of the whole school and I was utterly embarrassed and furious. Also kind of tipsy from all alcohol joe was giving me. I wasn't complaining though. It helped to down all the complicated feelings I was feeling.

"I couldn't stand and watch you being harassed like that". She replied, "You do realize that he was taking advantage of you right? ".

"Well what do you care?" I replied. "No one asked you to watch us in the first place, besides why don't you go dance with susan? you both seemed to be really cozy earlier.

"What does that have to do with anything?" she asked looking confused

I wasn't going to reply to that. I didn't want to have to explain anything to her.

"Wait was that the reason for your attitude earlier?"
"Answer me"
"say something"

"I like you liz okay?" I don't know when and how it happened but i do. And that's why I've been avoiding you since that night in your room. Seeing you that way did things to me that I didn't understand. And I planned on telling you tonight but then I saw you with that girl. Honestly I was heartbroken. I don't know what I was expecting. I mean it's not like...........

"Shhhhhhhh already" she said covering my mouth with hers. The kiss was so unexpected it made my head spin. Her lips were so soft and it felt so good. I was in another planet when she finally pulled away.

"I like you too silly. That was what I've been trying to tell you all night".

"You do?" I was blushing like a fool. It felt so unreal.

"Yes I really do". She then leaned in and kissed me again. This time it was a lot more passionate. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I had never felt this way before. We were like that for a while till we were cut short by drops of water. It started raining.

"Let's leave here?" she asked grinning. We ran laughing all the way to our dorm.

*Liz's POV*

We were drenched when we got to our dorm. Dripping water everywhere, bodies shivering, teeth clattering, we were a mess and we were laughing so hard.

The dorm was totally empty. Everyone was still at the party and would probably be stuck there till the rain stops. Erika went to her room to change out of her wet clothes.

I took a shower and changed into fresh clothes. I was in bed when the thunders started. They were loud and a bit scary. I looked up and to my surprise Erika was standing beside my bed.

"Are you okay?" I asked. She had already changed out of her wet clothes and had on a flimsy pair of shorts and a tank top.

"Yes I am, although I was wondering if I could stay here with you for a while" she looked scared and honestly I found it kinda funny. "That's if you don't mind" she added.

"Of course I don't mind. But I gotta ask. Are you scared of the thunder? "

"Maybe they freak me out a bit, but no one must hear about it okay?.

I moved to create space for her and she came and laid beside me.

"My parents always made fun of my fear of thunders so I always cuddled up with my dog till it stops. He always made me feel better. I miss him so much".

"I could make you feel better?, come here" I said putting my arms around her. I nestled my head on her shoulders.

We laid like that till the thunders stopped. She smelled so nice and it took all the strength in me to keep my hand to myself. I slowly moved my hand from her waist to rest on her bare thigh just below the hemline of her shorts. I was hoping she didn't notice it.

After a while I grew bolder and started to trace light circles across her thigh. I moved up a bit higher and she inhaled slightly. She looked up to me. I raised up my head and looked back at her. "I'm so glad I'm with you". She said. I pulled her up to me and held her tightly. I felt so happy and connected to her. At some point we both drifted off to sleep.
