Chapter Fourteen

*Six years later*

*Liz's POV*

        "Can you come to my office right now?"

       "I'll be there right away sir" I said and dropped the phone.

      I was working as a PR executive in the biggest PR company in the city. And in just three years of working with them I was already their most loyal and hardworking staff. One of the directors was retiring  and the news going round was that I was going to be promoted to director when he leaves.

        My job was my life....it was really fun and I got to meet all kinds of popular celebrities and the pay was really good...I was really comfortable, with a big apartment and a really nice car.

         I was putting finishing touches on an article I was working on when I got a call from the chief director of the board...we were close and I was hoping he called to talk to me about my promotion.

          "Good day Sir" I said as got to his office.

        "How are you doing Elizabeth, sit down please" He said as he pointed to a chair. He was the only person that called me by my full name and I didn't even hate it.

          "I'm doing fine" I replied.

          "So how's the article on that football star coming along?" He asked

          "I'm putting the finishing touches on it and it'll be ready soon...I think you'll be really pleased with this one" I replied smiling.

          "That's good to hear, I didn't expect anything less from you" he said "So...." He continued adjusting his collar. "I was having a discussion with the board of directors today and we all decided it was time you joined the team....You brought in all our biggest jobs so no one deserves that promotion more than you".

          It was something I had been expecting so I wasn't so surprised... But i was really happy nonetheless

          " But before it can be finalised there's someone you have to interview first..... She is worth a million bucks and if you can get her to let us represent her....you'll get the promotion"

          "It shouldn't be much of a problem for me" I said smiling... "I'll get her signed with us in no time, when do I meet her?" I asked.

   
          "She travelled here from abroad and she's kind of a big deal.... She should be here anytime soon so you should get ready for your meeting."

          I was elated and I was almost bouncing all the way back to my office... I was excited for my meeting....I had a very charming personality that got me all my jobs...this one was going to be no different.

                    On getting to my office I called my best friend Angelique to tell her the good news. I got her voicemail and I left her a voice message telling her everything. She was a fashion designer and she had the biggest clothes store in the city...she was busy these days planning her wedding to my brother. It was kind of annoying but as long as they were happy I was happy for them. I was her chief bridesmaid of course and also the wedding planner.. It was going to be the best ceremony ever thanks to me.
