The clock ticked and it was a quarter to 8pm. Jeno and Donghyuck were still out and I was starting to worry.

Maybe they had a fight?

Maybe the date failed?

Maybe they decided to call it quits and just ignore each other the whole damn time.

My thoughts ran wild as I worried for the both of them. I worried for my bestfriend. Lee Donghyuck, Hyuckie--- Haechan.

Back when Mark hyung would stay here in the dorm, they were inseparable. Like two peas in a pod. Mark and Hyuck had been the very epitome  of every fan girl's and served as a basis for the given fan service and had been famously known as the unbreakable "MarkHyuck" couple. But ever since Mark Hyung graduated from NCT Dream, he became distant with Hyuck.

Less phone calls, less contact when they were away from each other and increasing fights.

During that time as I recall, they were getting ready for promotions and their world tour. Their fights and arguments continuously prolonged and the tanned male would end up coming home here at our dorm,  to sleep and have a peace of his mind from their quarrels; often times Hyuck would stay in my Room or Nana's .

Then a tragedy happened, Donghyuck got injured and had to halt from promoting along with NCT 127.

He slipped in the middle of a rigid dance choreography and the Canadian boy didn't seem to care. I visited him that night he got discarded from the hospital, he was already at home by that time. I never wish to see Hyuck at that state once more. Not being able to bare the pain from a horrible leg injury and worse----

Having his heart broken by Mark  himself. Breaking down from a unbearable heartbreak, I knew they weren't official, because none of them announced it or anything but I knew they had something.

But Mark became unpredictable and left out Hyuck in his misery.

Almost jumping out of the sofa that I was sitting on, the doors of the dormitory suddenly slammed open with two boys that I was expecting to see, entering with bright laughter and smiles.

"Seems like the both of you had a good time" I smiled as they slowly took of their shoes and placed it on the shoe rack neatly.

Hyuck decided to approach me and "Plop!" instantly lying down atop of me; cuddling.

"Yaaah! Haechan ahh! "

"Injunnnieeeee, Let me stay here please, I'm tired."

Sighing, I wrapped my arms around him, engulfing him in a nice hug.

Jeno carried their bags into their respective rooms and sat on the sofa across the one I was sitting on. Staring at him, he returned my observation with a smile.

"Thank you for taking care of him today"

Simply smiling with his eyes closed as he nodded, he replied.

"Renjun, I'm grateful. And Im sorry. "

"No its fine, we were both at fault. We easily gave into temptation and it got the best of us ---

But I'm happy-- for you and Hyuck"

"It was just the first date, we aren't rushing" Hyuck suddenly intervened as he got himself off of me , heading over to the kitchen counter to make our dinner.

Me and jeno stared at each other then stared at hyuck. the feeling in our hearts started to became warm.

The guilt is slowly creeping out of me , as me and Jeno had a standing ground of empathy as we both know--- Our friendship will keep blossoming, not as conflicted lovers anymore but as treasured friends.

This certain type of love that every friendship has to be a part of a strong bond that would last a lifetime.

"We'll talk later" Jeno mentioned as he headed to the counter to assist the tanned male with his preparation.

They worked silently and certainty.

They seemed to be comfortable with each  other and I couldn't help but stare, Jeno would often reach out for simple ingredients , letting himself take over some of Donghyuck's working dish. Hyuck on the other hand would often blush and avoid his gaze by diverting his attention on other things.

They are slowly falling for each other.

The three of us had a wonderful time during dinner.

Just like old times.

Me and Renjun gave time to talk about ourselves once again , catching up with the lost time we had during the awkwardness phase of our mistakes.

Often times, I would casually glace at Hyuck while he would converse with the Chinese male, then my insides would feel all mixed up upon seeing Donghyuck laugh loudly as they would joke around like they normally do.

After digging in our meals, Renjun excused himself out to pick up Chenle and Jisung from the airport.

Knowing they had gone back from Shanghai filming their ChenJi Episode, where as Chenle fulfilled his promise by taking Jisung back to his hometown. I'm sure they had a blast.

Double update for today. Sorry for not updating recently, I've been occupied with my work and studies so I had to lay low.

Planning to continue my JohnTen book and too lazy to open a separate book for a MarkHyuck pair so in the near future, please refer to my "Beyond the Line" book for future MarkHyuck story.

Q: Which underrated NCT pair do you ship the most?

Mine is obviously NoHyuck (Lol Mork who?), KunTen and now I've recently added KunXiao.
