"Wha- What?" I stumble," But- no! It really couldn't be- I mean, Ok. So you say that I might be this boy who you met when you were little, right. But that can't be real since I'm pretty sure there aren't any gaps in my memory and no offence, I don't exactly remember you. I meant it like, if I met you before, how come when I first saw you the other day I didn't recognise you straight away? So is there the possibility of you mistaking me for someone else, or maybe if it was just that the necklace looked similar?"
She shook her head sadly" I don't know about that, but I'm pretty sure that the 'he' was you."
"But WHY, why are you so stubborn on the fact that I am him?"
She looked up at me with misted puppy eyes and I couldn't take it.
" gah! No! I'm sorry! Don't do that, um, sure! If you want to think that I'm him then so be it!"
She opened her mouth to say something but I, picking up a noise, covered it.
" shhhhhh."
She looked at me with wide eyes and blinked.
Voices neared as we listened in silence.
" I saw her coming this way, she must be around here somewhere." A male voice.
" Well she'd better be. Running off with MY supplies." Another voice answered it.
I shot her an amused look.
You took their supplies?
She shrugged with a sly smile.
Finders keepers.
I'm impressed.
It's an honer. With a nod of her head, her eyes glinting with mischief.
" Well." I whispered." I say we run."
She raised an eyebrow.
I rose to a crouch, expecting her to follow. But the stumbling movement behind me caught my attention.
Her unnaturally pale face came in sight.
Shit.
Oh Shit.
The blinding red that seeped through her fingers sent me into a totally not calm state.
The sight of her, clutching her side, made me want to rip those people's faces out.
" Who did it?"
"It's fine, it's just a scratch, that's all."She breathed.
"Who?"
She paused.
An insufferable sigh. "The one with no supplies."
And honestly, for a second I just stared at her, not sure to laugh or to seethe.
"You earned it."
"I know, so lets just skit, ok?"
I scooped her up and hid her somewhere safe.
"Sure..." I say as I unlatch the rifle from my belt.
Except I don't let no one mess with people under my protection.
Oh you better hide now, my dear...
Prey.
