Mystery Camp

School was finally out for the summer in San Diego, California. A young boy named Thomas was so excited he could barely contain himself. He had finally convinced both his parents to let him stay at Mystic Camp for the summer. It was a place he's been wanting to travel to since he was only 8 years old. And now, the boy was 12 years of age, and soon to be 13. After nearly 5 years of convincing, his parents decided it was alright to take this trip, but only since the camp is said to be supervised by adults associated with park rangers on Mystic Camps' official site and brochure.

The reason Thomas always wanted to go so bad was the fact that it was rumored that the woods by the Mystic Camp cabin were haunted and full of unsolved mysteries. As a young theorist of the unknown, he wanted to actually uncover the dark, secret mysteries of the campsite. The place use to get alot of business until it was rumored that 4 kids went missing back in 1975. Though, there have been no recorded incidents of this occuring anywhere in media surrounding the history of the camp.

Unlike most kids, Thomas loved studying the weird and the paranormal. He wrote theories in his notebook about the place. Things ranging from curses, creatures, and dark sorcery, but of course, nobody in his class believed it could be true whatsoever. Instead, everyone in his middle school class made fun of him for it. So, Thomas is willing to prove everyone wrong when school starts again and make a discovery. He began to pack, taking everything he needed to record and document evidence in his backpack, along with a suitcase full of regular junk. "Are you sure about this trip Thomas? I heard kids went missing there! I'm having second thoughts," said his worried mother, getting choked up with Anxiety. Thomas smiled and replied," C'mon Mom! That was like 40 years ago, and it's not like I'll be there all alone. Other kids will definitely be there along with adults for supervision and-" "Okay, okay, you little moron," said Thomas's stepdad as he smoked a joint on the couch.

"The kid is old enough to vibe, you gotta let the little man vibe maaaaaan," replied his stepdad before passing out on the couch. Thomas then heard his bus pull up outside, beeping instantaneously. He left out the door so fast his mom didn't even get to reply. "WAIT!!! BE SAFE!!!!" she quickly yelled, but Thomas was already on the bus before he could hear her.

There were only 3 other kids on the bus, but Thomas was so excited to go regardless. The other kids were already asleep as if they had been on the bus for hours, so Thomas didn't bother greeting them as he eagerly sat down in his seat, not even noticing all the missed messages from his mom in the past 5 seconds. Before he knew it, the bus took off.

Not even half an hour had gone by, yet it was beginning to become dark outside. Meanwhile, they were still traveling. Everyone was still sleeping, except Thomas who had the same excited expression since he got onto the bus. Even the bus driver was getting sleepy. The bus was now on a mountain road as it ominously started getting dark and stormy outside. As the bus continued driving, it started to become foggy.

Before anyone knew it, the bus was now on an empty road near some woods. The storm quieted down, yet the fog remained. The bus driver began squinting, as the road ahead was pitch black, only being illuminated by the headlights. Suddenly, the lights inside the bus began to flicker, startling both Thomas and the bus driver. The flickering started to wake the other 3 kids up. "Wait what?! The hell?!?", exclaimed the bus driver as the gps on the bus shut off, along with the lights altogether.

Everyone was now spooked, as the only thing that was lighting up the road now was the headlights. "Um, excuse me! Fix the wiring in this old bus!", shouted one of the kids from the back of the bus, but the bus driver didn't listen. He was too busy focusing on the road as he began to sweat nervously.......

But then.....

It was something out nightmares, as a flash of lightning struck in the pitch black sky, briefly lighting up the empty road. It revealed a haunting black figure standing in the middle of the road!!! Everybody screamed as life flashed before the bus driver's eyes with a mere second to react. The bus driver swiftly swerved the bus off the road to avoid hitting the stranger as fast as possible. The bus then swerved off the road and down the mountain, passing the forest trees, followed by a loud crash. The whiplash sent Thomas flying through one of the bus windows.

Just like that, everything went black.....
