Alex can barely contain his excitement as his legs bounce at an extreme speed. His desktop is shaking like an earthquake and his binder and pencils begin to topple over. The teacher's works sounded like senseless noise to Alex as he was focused on getting out of class. Today's a big day for Alex. He's finally able to join the Lightning Majors today. It's something he's been waiting for since middle school!

"All right class, tonight fo-

RIIINNNNNNGG!!!!!

Before the teacher could finish, the piercing sound from the school bell cut her off. The students slowly gathered their things together in contrast to Alex who crammed everything into his book bag. He quickly got his stuff together and bolted out the doorway, running into a few students.

The hallway was cluttered with groups of students chatting, getting things out of their lockers, and heading home. It seems like time was running slower than usual. It seemed like the world was in a natural dream-like state. A quick blur that interrupted that sluggish moment, pushing students out of the way. It was Alex running down the hall with his book bag still unzipped, his books and papers flying.

"Make way!" "Outta the way!" Alex yells to a group of three girls in front of him. The group of girls scream and scramble to the sides of the hallway. One of the girls falls on her butt, but she quickly stands up. She brushes her red hair to the side and fixes her plaid skirt.

"You asshole!" she yells after Alex. Alex doesn't look back and keeps running.

"Gotta book it to the gym, quick!" Alex mutters to himself. The Lightning Majors are going to meet today in the gym and begin recruiting today after school. Alex couldn't wait to show the upperclassmen how super strong he was. He was training his lightning powers since his 8th grade year, and he felt like it was time to show everyone else what he could do.

Alex was running so quick down the hall he forgot why he was running to begin with. He stopped in his tracks and turned around. He realize he had passed the hall leading to the gym. He reversed himself, making his way back to the hall he previously passed. Down the hall he could see a line coming out of the gym. Students standing nonchalantly in a line talking with other. Others seemed eager about recruitment and others seemed a bit nervous.

Alex gulped at the sheer mass of students in front of him.

"Wow, all these guys are trying out for the Lightning Majors?!" Alex said aloud. He was taken aback and felt his knees buckle underneath him. He stood in line behind a student. He tried to back up to see how many students there were, he felt the back of his shoe step on something. Before he could completely turn around, he felt a hard push against his back.

"HEY, WATCH IT!" a voice shouted. Alex turns around and sees a short girl with red hair. Her expression furious with her hands on her hips. Alex looks at her with a confused look.

"Huh?"

"You heard me! I said watch it dummy."

Alex's expression changes from confusion to irritation.

"Well you shouldn't be standing too close to me, lil miss." He pokes her forehead. The girl steps back, her face turning red as her hair. She closes her fists in frustration, trying to say something, but nothing comes out. Alex gives her a smug look and turns around. He sticks his head out to the side to see how long the line is.
