The girl with glasses took her hands away from her face and looked at the stunned students. She walked toward them with a skip in her step and held out her hand. None of the students moved one bit.
"Hi! My name is Jennifer, but you can call me Jenny!"
The students gave Jenny weird looks. She still had her hand out with a big goofy smile. Alex, standing behind a few students, pushed pass them and shook Jenny's hand. She smiled even harder.
A tall guy walked out the gym doors and walked over behind Jenny. He was tall, had spiky black hair, and had a serious look on his face. He put his hand on Jenny's shoulders and she turned around to look at him.
"I hope you aren't scaring off any future Lightning Majors, Jenny."
"Aww come on Jacky!" I didn't scare 'em that bad!"
Jack gave Jenny a raised eyebrow and she retorted with a pout. She walked back towards the gym in a sluggish manner. Jack looked at the students with a rather judgmental look. Alex smiled at Jack, but he didn't smile back. The red haired girl didn't make eye contact with Jack at all, and she seemed nervous.
"Ok, it seems that there's not many of you left. Well I think I can interview the rest of you before evening time."
"Follow me into the gym." Jack says as he motions the students to follow. The students sat there for a moment, and looked at each other. One boy shook his head and looked to the side. Alex, the red haired girl, and a few other students followed Jack to the gym.
The students stepped into the gym. Alex looked around, in awe. The gym looked enormous on the inside, as the bleachers were put up and the floor was polish, Alex could see his reflection on the floor. There was also a table in the middle of the floor, with two chairs. Jenny was sitting in one of them and she waved hard at the students with her same goofy smile.
Jack walked over to the table and turned around towards the students. He still had that serious look on his face. He sat down in the chair next to Jenny. Him and Jenny started to whisper. The students looked at each other. The red haired girl gulped and started to shake. One boy rolled his eyes.
Alex seemed to be impatient yet nervous. He didn't know what was in store for him. He thought that he could easily get a spot because he assumed that Cameron was still the leader. He didn't know what this Jack guy could have him do.
Jack and Jenny finished whispering and turned back to the students. He looked at each one from Alex to the boy on the end. "I want to see what each of you can do. I want each of you to perform a simple lightning move. It could be any move you know."
The students looked at each other. Alex spoke up. "That's it?"
"Yeah. Simple as that. I will judge you based on how strong your move is."
"Okay, that should be easy."
Jack looked at Alex with a raised eyebrow, then laughed a bit.
"You think it'll be easy? Interesting."
The other students looked at Alex. The red haired girl scoffed. She still looked nervous. She held her head high and took a deep breath. Alex was standing next to her and he looked at her. He raised his hand and patted her head.
"Quit being so nervous, it'll be fine." She blushed a bit and started shaking again.
"I want to start with you here." Jack said as he pointed to a boy with blonde hair. He stepped up confidently, his head held high.
"State your name and grade."
"Jason Griffin. Sophomore."
"Okay Griffin, lets see what you got."
