Thunderbolt Training!

Jason the Wet Blanket!

"So we made it, huh?" Alex says, still bewildered.

"I-I guess so, even though you making it was shocking to me," McKayla remarked, trying to sound confident, although her legs were shaking.

She huffed and turned her head.

"I guess I'll see you at the meeting after school today."

"Uhhh..meeting? What meeting?"

"Our first Lightning Majors meeting, duh!"

McKayla rolled her eyes and left for class. Alex frowned.

Well damn, she's rude.

Alex started to walk briskly towards his next class, the late bell was about to ring. His science teacher didn't play around when it came to tardiness. As he as walking towards his next class, his thoughts were focused on the Lightning Majors results. He can't believe he made it, even though Jack gave him a bad score. Did he changed his mind? Was there a reason why he was chosen?

As Alex made his way inside the classroom, the loud bell rung.

RIIINNNNNNGG!!!!!

"Safe!" He shouted. The teacher gave him a serious look. Alex looked around and the students were giving him weird looks. In the crowd of students, he saw McKayla. He waved at her, but she looked the other way.

"Alex, please take your seat so we can start class."

"Yeah, yeah. But I was on time, I hope you know that."

A couple of students giggled. Alex made his way to his desk and put his backpack on the floor. He wanted to sit by McKayla, but the seat by her was taken. The teacher started by passing out handouts.

"Okay class, there will be a science project coming up where you will be paired up in groups of two."

When Alex got his paper from the student in front of him, he looked at it strangely as if it were some foreign language. He couldn't really think straight since he found out that he made the Lightning Majors team. He looked over at McKayla who was diligently looking at her paper.

"How in the hell did she manage to make it? Her score was higher, but my power was definitely stronger."

Alex couldn't fathom Jack's thought process.  Maybe he'll explain during the meeting. Alex's legs were bouncing as they usually were. He was just excited but also curious about the meeting and who else will be there. He saw some familiar names on the list. 

The teacher went on and started teaching class, and students got out their notebooks, ready to take notes. Alex got his out as well and started to doodle. Doodling in his notebook helps him think, even though it gets him in trouble. The teacher went on a lesson about the periodic table elements and each grouping. Alex yawned a bit. He really wasn't a science person and learning about all the elements sounded a bit boring.

About an hour passed and the class bell had rung loudly.

"Ok class, don't forget about the project! You'll have to have a partner by next class period!"

Alex quickly gathered his things and quickly left the classroom. As he headed out the door, he bumped into McKayla.

She turned around and gave Alex a sharp look.
