I go out on a party and look for a little fun,
but I find a darkened corner 'cause I still miss someone.

{Clary's POV}

The entertainment headlines had hit and they weren't looking good. They ranged between Jace and Jons release and the conclusion of our tour to Nico and I's various outings and latest gossip. A buzz had settled over the entertainment industry in the form of fresh gossip and opportunity.

Fame was a fickle mistress.

We had just barely managed to finish our UK tour but our fans were very vocal, they despised me and i didn't blame them. Jace had, at first, almost continuted as normal for the first month and then the second struck until he was down to saying no more than two words to me in two weeks purely because he couldn't keep up appearances anymore.

Jon however had never felt more betrayed in his life which he hadn't been shy in telling me the second the news of Nico and i had hit. To top everything off i couldn't blink without the media knowing about it.

"Fucking paparazzi." Nico hisses as he comes through the front door of his new apartment and i look up from my notebook at the dining table which consisted of a series of despressing ideas for songs.

"Well you wanted fame." I snip at him, looking back down at my notes and see him flip me off from the corner of my eye. I pay it no mind, we had a very strict hate/hate relationship. If you could even call it a relationship.

"Are you going out tonight?" I question him as he puts the food from the bags he brought in with him into the fridge and he hums lowly before answering
"Most likely, it is friday. Are you staying in?" He glances at me over his shoulder as if it's a genuine question.

"Obviously, you don't trust me to go anywhere." I stab my pen into the notebook and he sighs audibly.
"Perhaps if you were even remotely discreet I'd consider it but we both know you'd be slinking off to Jaces to get your bones jumped." I actually launch the pen across the room at him now, we had been 'dating' for two months and the only time i was allowed anywhere near the band was at practice and meetings which Magnus still insisted on despite our tour being over. And even then everyone avoided me like the plague.

Nico on the other hand was out every weekend finding something young and impressionable to mount. Which wouldn't bother me in the slightest had i been allowed to do the same thing. At least he hadn't attempted to touch me like that. Other than our display of affection in public we each kept our distance.

Probably because he knew I'd break his fingers if he tried.

I'm brought back to reality when he yelps as the pen meets it's target and strikes him on the back of the head.
"What the fuck?!" He swings round, barking at me and i cross my arms over my chest.
"I would not be going to get my bones jumped, we were friends too you know." I inform the arrogant bastard as he rubs at the tender spot and slams the fridge door shut with his free hand.

"It would lead there. You two are like wild animals and friends or not, it's very hard to remain friends when you enjoy seeing them naked so much." He scowls at me and i return it even if he had planted a very graphic image in my mind of my ex.

"If you're really that sexually frustrated just invite Harry over." It was very clearly a joke considering Harry was in England and we were back in New York and his smile just confirms it. I curse him under ny breath as he kicks his shoes off.

"Harry and i are friends, nothing more and you know that." I warm him but he's unfazed as he takes a seat across from me at the glass table. I close my notebook to save our ideas being stolen a second time.
