Chapter Three||I will protect her||TW:Abuse

"Emma!? Where have you been!?"

Oh no... My Dad...! "I was studying a-at Hajime's!"

"Bullshit!!!" He yelled, running out of his man cave. "You were out with a girl again! Just like that stupid bluenette!" I flinched as he disrespected Setsuka. Noticing my flinch he complied with a response. 

"What!? Where you out with her again!?" I sunk my head ready to respond;

"I-I was with-"

I heard a crashing as the door was kicked open.

"She was with me!" Kokoro yelled. She was like a knight in shining armour. 

"Wh-! You damn que-"

Before my father could say anything the police rushed in pushing him into the wall and handcuffing him. Kokoro gave me a comforting look. I realised! Kokoro can read minds! That's how she knew to call the police! We went outside and watched as he was driven away in the police car. It was strange. The first time I'd felt safe since my mother was here... I wish she had never left me alone... but that doesn't matter anymore! I can go stay at Hajime's but... dammit... he's on a date now... 

"Setsuka's free. We can stay with her." Kokoro piped in with her monotone voice. 

"We?" I questioned smirking.

"I-I mean you!"

And so she began to drive me to Setsuka's. Of course we stopped for slushies on the way. You can never have too many.

"How long has he been abusing you...?" Kokoro asked me with a comforting voice. I hesitated before answering.

"Guess we both have shitty parents eh...?" I was shocked to hear swear. We finished our slushies and continued to drive until we reached Setsuka's place. I waved her goodbye and knocked on the door.

"Oh! Hey Emma! Hoho! Kokoro texted me!"

She welcomed me in and we talked in a jovial manner as time passed by. I cracked jokes.

"My friend's bakery burned down. I guess you could say his career is toast!"

After several puns had been told we began to talk through more serious things and Setsuka asked me about Kokoro.

"Sora told me about ya little crush on miss psychologist. Were you guys perhaps on a date??" My face went red as beans. 

"W-well... I wouldn't say that... but..." She smirked.

"Things have been the same for me and Hibiki!" She laughed slightly.

And so we spent the night talking about crushes and who we ship with each other...
