NICOLE GIBBS was perfect on the outside. Well, sort of.

She had smiling parents, a happy sibling and the future of every kid's dream. They weren't rich, but they were quite well-off, and her parents were well known throughout their hometown of Derry, Maine.

Despite all of this, though, Nicole had never really had a real friend. With such a name, fake people were bound to come in hordes. She spent her time alone with her nose in a book or sketchbook, and she had no friends. She was totally a loner, through and through.

They called her arrogant-- ungrateful for everything she was blessed with, but her family had their deep dark secrets.

She was only scared, though. No one had ever really liked her... what if no one did? What if everyone was just getting closer to her for the name, the money... what if?

So Nicole stays a loner for as long as she can, until a chance encounter with Derry's local Loser Club winds her up in the strangest summer of her life. Now fighting a terrible clown with an appetite for children, jumping off cliffs for excitement, protecting the baby sister that she never wanted and having to face the dark truth of her family, Nicole finds out that there's more to life than being alone and shutting others out.

She needs these people-- she needs her friends.

Nicole has a chance to be a a part of something that no one else wants to be a part of-- that they'd rather die than be a a part of.

No one wants to be a loser... no one except Nicole Gibbs and the others.

Because they are Losers, and these so called losers are going to win... or, you know, die trying.
