CHAPTER SEVEN
like a movie.

...

Nicole couldn't believe how fast the Losers had become a few of the most important people in her life. With the snap of a finger, Nicole had ended up twisted in this clown-conspiracy and found herself walking into the deep-end with that Denbourgh boy.

She also couldn't believe the fact that people... hated them. Claimed they were freaks, and so was she for hanging out with such sludge. Nicole realized, as she stood at the kitchen table with her mother hurling insults, that they really were the town's Losers... that no one wanted anything to do with them-- they were the outcasts.

And it was there in that accursed kitchen that Nicole settled with that knowledge and had no issue with it-- even if her cheating mother had enough issues to strangle an elephant.

"I'm going."

It had been a few weeks since their talk at the park, two weeks of trying to find out where this stupid clown was while also trying to decide how they were supposed to kill this thing.

At Nic's words, Erin's face pulled taut. She approached the table, but Nicole refused to look up.

"You're not going anywhere--"

"You can't stop me from going out with my friends. Especially not you, not anymore!" Nicole snapped.

"You're no daughter of mine." Erin spat.

Nicole sighed. "I know, I'm not a cheater-- I'd be faithful." Nicole growled, then ducked out of the chair as her mother made a swing for her. She crashed into the counter and sent the salt shaker skidding across the floor. "Dani, let's go!" Nic yelped, scrambling around the table. Footsteps thumped down the stairs and the front door swung open.

"She... she isn't even my full sister! You lied to us-- you've always been lying!" Nicole's voice rose to a yell as her mother came closer, eyes seeming to burn with rage.

"You're grounded! Sit down, Nicole!" Her mother seethed as Nic slipped past her and out the door. Her arms locked around Dani, then the sisters were gone. Nicole leapt onto her bike and settled her sister in her arms as they sped forward.

"I'm so sorry, Dani-- I never... I never..." Her tears slipped silently onto her sister's shoulder. Dani sniffled, which startled Nicole as her baby sister rarely cried anymore. They came from a broken home-- when you cry that much eventually it loses it's spark. "Shit, I've been so shitty."

Nicole spotted Bill's house just a few houses up. They had plans to meet in the garage and keep up with the plans for dealing with the thing in Derry, but no one was going to be expecting Dani.
