why'd you have to be so cute? it's impossible to ignore you.

Cameron woke up to the sound of someone vomiting in his bathroom. "Uuuuhhhh, yup. That sounds about right," he croaked as he turned over to get up. He ran his palms through his curls and opened up the blinds. Standing up, he felt a little dizzy, reaping the benefits of his own drinking.

When he dragged himself into the bathroom he saw China vigorously brushing her teeth.

"... Is that my toothbrush?"

"Mm-hm," China spat, rinsed off the brush, then tried to hand it to him. "Here ya go."

"Mm, nope. It's yours now. Happy late birthday," he said pushing it back into her chest. He reached into his bath caddy for an extra toothbrush and began freshening up himself. Once they were somewhat clean and only halfway presentable, Cameron suggested they go to the cafeteria for breakfast.

"It's opened for couple hours for the early move-in students," he said tossing her a pair of his jeans.

She slipped on his pants and followed him out of the dorm. The walk to the cafe was silent; only speaking when they thought that they were lost. But once they arrived they piled pancakes on their plates and sat down in a quiet corner.

"It's a little busier than I thought it'd be," China said breaking the silence and digging into her breakfast.

"I absolutely refuse to entertain any more avoidance of a real conversation." Cameron took a swig of orange juice. "What's your beef with Chloe?"

"Well then," China huffed and put her fork down.

"Yup,"

"There is no beef. I just don't care for her to be my friend. I like my circle small," China said making an actual circle with her fingers. "She simply didn't make the cut. I don't feel bad about that. I don't have to or want to be everyone's friend."

"And I do?"

"Do you not, Mr. Popular?" she turned to look at him.

"It's not my fault that people... like me, China."

"No, it's not. But you could keep your charisma and fan club away from me." China smiled.

Cameron rubbed his forehead. "Just so we're clear," he sighed.  "You don't want to be friends with any of my friends? Is that a good enough synopsis?"

"That is correct. Out of respect, I will try to do a better job at tolerating them, though. I'll admit I could be a little nicer," she picked her fork back up. "But a general rule of thumb: if it's not just you, Kar, Tony, or Sophie, please don't invite me."

"That's fine, I guess. Ju- why doesn't she get to 'make the cut' as you say?"

"Like I said, I like my circle small. Quite frankly, she takes up too much space on her own."

He wanted her to explain just so he could hear it out loud but he knew exactly what she meant. Chloe's personality was huge like his own, while everyone else was sort of low key. Everyone was already pretty comfortable in their roles before Chloe joined them. It's just that the others were a lot more welcoming.

"Fine." he sighed and began eating his own food. "There's something else I wanted to talk to you about while we're on the topic of Chloe."

"Go ahead," she mumbled, knowing where this was going.

"I think... I want to get more serious with her."

"Okay? And?"

"And that means no more of this."
