Cause I am not a word, I am not a line
I am not a girl that can ever be defined
I am not fly, I am levitation
I represent an entire generation
___________________________(AN: This is one of my ideas for a book called The Handmaid's Uprising. It's literally just an idea, but I wanted to gauge everyone's reactions.)
They've stripped us of everything, even our names. If we're heard saying the name we were given at birth, we're beaten on the spot. I've been beaten 18 times in the past 6 months, but the beating I got after being caught trying to make a run for the border was by far the worst.
It started out as a joke. Or so we thought. They even made a show about it, The Handmaid's Tale. But we all joked it off. When that dickwad Trump started stripping away women's privileges one by one, it became less and less funny. There were thousands of rallies and protests, but they fell on deaf ears.
The protest me and my best friend, Candice, went to in Queens ended in gunshots whizzing around us and 47 fatalities. That's when we knew shit was real.
Candice...
I miss her. She sadly did not get marked with a red tag like myself, so she was placed in a working camp. That's where they sent all of the women who couldn't conceive, which was literally seventy-eight percent of the female population. Or they would send the women to a whorehouse until their pussies were ruined and then they were sent to the concentration camp.
Lesbians were easily sent to the concentration camps if they weren't marked with a tag. Gay men were hung with the words gender traitor spray painted below them. Luckily my gay ass was marked and didn't have to go to the camps, but I was beaten and called an abomination for months.
The older women were treated like actual house slaves, they were called Marthas. Cooking whatever the Missus and the Massa desire, cleaning every inch of the home, and were to be invisible to everyone else. I've seen a few Marthas who weren't anywhere near old, but I just assumed they knew someone who knew someone and pulled some strings.
Older women who were for this bullshit were trained to be aunts. The ones who beat the handmaids senseless and call us every name in the book, and not the good book either. They screech all day and shove their religion down your throat. The same fucked up religion they've based this new world on. Yeah, I want no parts in that...
Now the women who were marked with a red tag were forced to stay in a home with people who were practically their 'owners,' fuck them during your ovulating days, then hopefully get knocked up and finally sent away to the next set of homes where it would happen all over again.
Now who are these people we do this for, you ask? Welp, they are literally the rich and important. The commanders and higher ups of this entire organization are the ones who get the cream of the crop when it comes to handmaidens because their wives can't produce children for them. And then anyone else who was for this shit and rich got treated better than anyone else and were also given handmaids.
Today is the third home I'm being sent to. I've been 'too much trouble' at the previous homes, all because I wasn't wanting to participate in the rape. My God I'm so terrible! So after a few thorough beatings, I'm off to a new home.
Stepping out of the car, my mouth mentally drops from the sheer size of the home. Its huge and so immaculate! It has to be the biggest house I've seen in Massachusetts so far. Me and the fat ass aunt they stuck me with walk up the steps to the home. Two simple knocks from her chubby knuckles, the door swings open, and I'm standing face to face with the most gorgeous woman my gay ass has ever seen.
