"I'm going to pick her up now. I'll call you when we get back to the apartment." Robyn informed Carol, Onika's mother before hanging up the phone.

Her stomach was filled with the worst possible kind of butterflies. She was scared, nervous and felt incredibly guilty.

Two days after the incident, Onika woke up from the medically induced coma. She didn't want to see Rihanna and told the doctors and nurses to keep her out of her room.

Even though it hurt her to the core, Rih understood and backed off. Mama Carol kept her updated daily and even told Rihanna when Nicki was being released.

They kept her much longer than the usual seven days because they believed she was still a threat to herself.

When Carol got the news that they were releasing Nicki from the hospital, she called Rihanna and let her know

Rih begged her to allow her to be the one to pick Nicki up, and even though Carol was very hesitant at first, the doctors had told her that Nicki was doing much, much better, and she knew how badly Rihanna was hurting, so she agreed to it.

As Robyn approached the hospital doors, her stomach dropped and her palms began to sweat. Her nerves were all over the place, and she was scared to be rejected again, or even worse, unintentionally push Nicki back into another deep depression.

She was about to turn around and go back to the car and call Carol to tell her to come get her when Nicki emerged from the hospital.

Robyn's breath was caught in her throat, and her eyes began to water as she stared at the woman she loved. Nicki looked absolutely gorgeous. She didn't look like she'd been in a hospital for a month being evaluated, she looked like she'd been at a spa instead.

Nicki had a big smile on her face as she hugged a woman in a white coat that Rih assumed was her doctor. Robyn heard her say thank you for all she'd done and that she would call later to schedule.

Robyn kept her distance, standing at least ten feet away from Nicki, not wanting to upset the smaller woman.

When the doctor turned around to go back inside, Nicki finally turned and saw Robyn.

Her eyes watered instantly, and she felt her heartbeat double in speed. She looked around the area, trying to see if her mom was there too but quickly realized it was just her and Robyn

"Aye, kitten." Rih was the first to break the ice.

The pet name made Nicki's stomach flutter.

"Hi." Robyn's heart clenched and a tear rolled down her face after hearing the soft, sweet, angelic voice that she loved so much. She hadn't heard it in so long, and it was one of the things she missed every second of the day they were apart.

"You ready?" Robyn asked in a soft tone. It hurt to not pick up the small girl and hold her tightly, but the last thing she wanted was to make her uncomfortable.

A simple head nod was given to her question.

Robyn tilted her head after grabbing the small bag from Nicki's hands and began walking to her car.
