Corrupted (A Dark Percy Jackson Story)

Chapter II

[Annabeth]

As I walk into his room, I am greeted by a fresh sea salt smell. I breathe in the scent as I am completely comforted. I look at Percy and give him a hug.

"We're safe" I say to into Percy's chest as I close my eyes. As soon as those words slip from my mouth, I could feel that Percy's heartbeat started to become fast and his breathing hitched. He grips on to me tighter, but suddenly it became harder to breathe. "Seaweed Brain..." I groan, "can't breathe, please let go". But instead of letting go, he keeps hugging me tighter and tighter.

As I start to see stars, I look up to see his eyes. Instead of his compassionate sea-green eyes that are always full of love and laughter, I see a dark, nasty red colored pair of eyes starting off into the distance. "Percy..." I gasp and I know I am going to pass out soon due to lack of oxygen. He is just too strong for me to break free from. Right before I pass out, Percy suddenly looks at me and his eyes flicker from sea-green to red and then back to sea-green. 

"Oh my gods Wise Girl are you okay?!?" He asks with much concern as he lets go of me. I gasp for air as I drop to the ground. I was still too weak to either stand or answer his question so Percy just lifts me up and gently puts me on his bed. He kneels next to the side of the bed and starts to feed me some emergency ambrosia that he keeps in his nightstand wile continually apologizes with tears in his eyes. 

"Oh my gods Wise Girl I-I'm so s-sorry. I d-don't know what came o-over me. Are you alright? Do you need water or something?" While Percy kept asking a million questions I start to laugh. I have no fucking clue why. I must have looked like a lunatic. "Seaweed Brain please stop asking me questions it is going to drive me nuts. I am fine now, but the question is are you okay?" I ask. "Annabeth... I don't know. I was just hugging you and then the next thing I knew I was choking you. A part of me didn't want to stop, just wanted me to finish you off for good. It took a lot of willpower but I broke free from that trance" he said. I nodded and was trying to think but I was way too exhausted to do so. "We should go up and tell the others" I say. He nodded in agreement and pulled me off from his bed.
