Orion sighed loudly as he laid his hand on the horn for the upteenth time in the terrible traffic. Sure the sky was opening up and whichever god belonged in the sky was lighting it up with lightning bolts, thunder and a blanket of violent rain. It was cold, wet, and hazardous outside...yet it was New York. They should know how to drive in shit weather yet he was still in traffic!
After dropping his drunk little human off at his home he was forced to go back to his office and get some things done. His assistant was incapable of doing anything without him and he hadn't realized that until he had been basically tied up the last day and half with Violet. It irked him though, knowing Violet was alone...and he had good reason to be irked.
Orion called Fred every hour to make sure Violet was okay. She woke up about two hours after she slept off her mimosas and he made her lunch. Then she tried to run away. He showed her where the theatre was and left her there so he could clean. She tried to run away. By dinner time she had stopped her terrible attempts and Fred made her a nice spread. He was pretty sure she only cooperated through dinner because of food but after that, she had stopped trying. That didn't stop Orion from calling his butler every hour.
Just as soon as Orion was about to dial Fred's number, his phone began to ring. It was Fred. His blood immediately started to boil, thinking that she did in fact succeed in actually running away.
"Where is she Fred?" He snapped into the phone, waiting for the older man to voice his concern.
A shuffling then a loud sigh sounded. "Locked in her room Master Sterling. It seems to me that she is deathly afraid of this storm. I am sure I can hear her crying. She is not hurt physically for I smell no blood but she is afraid."
Orion let out a breath he had no idea he was holding. She was still there. He didn't have to throw the contract at her and possibly involve the human authorities. That was a relief.... "I'll be there soon. Just stay with her I suppose."
Once he hung up with Fred, he was a speed demon on the road. If he was stopped he would simply show his teeth or throw some money at the underpaid law officer. That would surely get him off the hook...His main priority was making sure his human mate was...okay? It wasn't much he would be able to do it she really was just afraid of the storm. He wasn't a god.
Eat storm?
His dragon had a much more simple approach....but was it feasible? No. The most he could do was shift and roar at a few lightning strikes which would do absolutely nothing...
He made it to his home in record finding and as soon as he made his way in, he heard barking. Adonis was at the top of the steps and sailed down it in his small paws just to yell at the water droplets falling onto the floor from his jacket.
