his eyes shimmered in tears as he ran over into my arms and burried his face in my shoulder

i noticed how the fabric of my sweatshirt was getting drained in his salty tears

while stroking his hair in a calming manner i talked to him in a soothing tone

》what happend illy?《

the boy sniffed pitifully and answered with a shaky voice

》h-he pushed me down the swing《

》are you hurt?《

he nodded a little while still huging me tightly

》can you show me?《

》okay《

i was patiently waiting while he took his time letting go of me to show his bruised little hands

there were no serious injuries but i was sure it was hurting nontheless and at the sight of the blood he started sobbing again

》shsh it's fine mommy has bandaids《

i reassured

despite struggeling to hold back his tears he nodded and followed me to my mother who was engaged in a conversation with taeils mom

》mommy taeil's bleeding《

she turned around suprised with big eyes

when she saw taeils little outstreched hands she calmed down a bit

》you scared me《

with a chuckle she turned around, grabbed her bag and pulled out a water bottle

》pour some water on his hands《

she instructed me as she passed the bottle to me

while i did what i was told she carefully washed away the blood

taeil bit down his lip and flinched sometimes but didn't make a sound

without the blood covering his hands it didn't look that bad anymore, only some scratched up skin

》close your eyes illy《

i told him as my mom was pulling out a familiar spray bottle from her handbag

he knew what was going to happen when he shut his eyes tightly

when the burning sensation spread across his skin he let out a howling sound

》it's okay it's over《

my mom whispered

》only a bandaid《

i nodded proud at my best friend for enduring it so well

still with teary eyes he smiled back at me

》look《

he said stretching out his hands now covered in winnie the poh bandaids

it somehow made me laugh

》cute《

taeils mom ruffled his hair while lecturing him about how he needed to take care while playing at which he nodded while crying once again

she sighed before she hugged him and showered him in kisses

》take care《

she said before she let him go again

as soon as we were at a safe distance i turned to taeil to ask him one question i was burning to know

》illy do you know who pushed you down the swing?《

the kid eagerly nodded his head

》yeah it was kun that meanie《

》kun?《

kun wasn't really much of a troublemaker on the playground

most of the time he prefered to build sand castles over running around and playing with everyone else

he was usually alone as most of the kids weren't too much into sand castles

》he said it was his turn but it wasn't and then he pushed me《

i nodded

honestly i didn't care why kun had decided to push taeil

it only mattered that he did and as everyone on the playground knew: taeil was under my wing

whoever messed with taeil also messed with me and i wasn't the typ to let other people take away my candy

》wanna play hide and seek?《

taeils face lit up into a smile

》only if you're seeker《

he looked up to me with big puppy eyes that weren't even necessary as i could never say no to him

》okay go hide i'll count till 100《

he started running when i turned around

》no cheating《

he yelled

i waited a little and than finally turned around seeing him nowhere near by

before i started to look after him i went to kun who was busy working on a sand castle once again

》you pushed taeil down the swing《

i stated matter of factly

kun let out an angry huff

》it was my turn《

and that was all i needed

he indirectly admitted to the crime whereupon a punishment was justified

not even thinking twice about it i stepped on his sand castle making all his work go down the drain

》no《

he yelled as tears shot up his eyes

calm little kun who never got into a fight stood up trying to punch me

unfortunately i was significantly taller and stronger than my peers including kun

one punch was enough to make blood shoot out of his nose

》if someone asks you'll say that you fell down the swing or next time i will hit you for real, okay?《

crying and sobbing kun nodded in fear

i just turned around calmly and walked away

it was time to search for taeil
