Chapter 10

Y/N P.O.V.
I awake to the sound of slamming and yelling. I slowly rise and rub the sleep out of my eyes before getting up and walking downstairs.

I see Alois in the dining room, throwing plates at a very tall, beautiful maid with silver hair, tan skin, and a bandage covering one of blue eyes.

She cowers in a small corner with Alois standing over her, screaming insults at her.

"Good morning,Y/N. I was just about to get you for breakfast." Claude comes up behind me, making me jump.

"O-oh. Good morning Claude." I whisper, "What is going on?"

"His highness is usually like this. Why he takes it out in Miss. Hannah, I will never know." Claude replies, shaking his head.

"He always does this?! And you don't do anything?!"

"One does not simply stop their master."

"Well it's time someone does. No one deserves to be treated like this."

I march to Alois just as he raises his hand to strike the maid who's name I think was Hannah.

I grab his wrist and hold it firmly.

"What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?!" he screams.

"I could ask you the same thing." I say in a stern voice.

Alois turns to face me, bright blue eyes wide.

"Y/N. You're awake."

"Yes. I am. What are doing, beating this woman?"

"She's bloody useless." He spat in her direction.

"Alois stop it! No one deserves to be treated this way!" I help Hannah stand and we walk out of the dining area.

Alois P.O.V.

Stupid Hannah. It's her fault Y/N yelled at me.

"Your Highness," Claude comes beside me, "There is work waiting in your office."

I groan. That's so boring. But the sooner I finish it, the sooner I can hang out with Y/N.

Y/N P.O.V.

I walk Hannah to the nearest bathroom and sit her on the floor.

"Miss. Y/N. Why are you doing this?" she asks, quietly.

"I couldn't just let him beat you." I answer.

She's silent for a minute.

"Thank you, Miss. Y/N." She whispers.

"Just call me Y/N."

"Okay, Y/N."

I smile brightly at her and she smiles back.

I wrap up her hand and we exit the bathroom.

"If you'll excuse me. I have chores to take care of." she says, bowing.

"Thank you again."

"Don't worry about it." I say, waving her off.

She walks down the hall and disappears around a corner.

A knock comes from the door. I raise an eyebrow as Claude passes me to open it.

There stands Ciel and Sebastian.

"Hey guys!" I wave to them.

"Get her!" Ciel yells.

Sebastian runs past Claude and grabs me.

"W-what are you doing?!" I ask.

"What is going on here?" I hear Alois yell.

"What are you doing?!" He screams.

So many noises, I can't even hear myself anymore.

Then, as Sebastian exits the house with me over his shoulder, I hear sobbing.

I look up and see Alois on the floor, sobbing.

"Please, Y/N! You can't leave me! Not you too!"

My heart breaks.

"Sebastian, put me down." I say sternly, looking into his crimson eyes.

He sets me down on the ground and I run back inside the house.

Kneeling next to Alois, I wrap my arms around his quivering form.

He looks up at me with those big blue eyes.

"Y-Y/N. Please don't leave me."

I hug him tightly.

"I-I won't." I whisper.

I pull away and wipe his tears, smiling softly.

Ciel P.O.V.

I watch as Y/N comforts that brat.

A low growl escapes my throat.

"Y/N you must come with us into town. We have to get a coffin."

She looks up at me, E/C eyes wide.

"Of course." She stands and looks to Alois.

"I have to go, but I will be back." she says.

I scowl at the sight of her holding his hands.

She walks out and steps into the carriage.

I climb in behind her and finally Sebastian.

Y/N P.O.V.

I stare out the window as we ride into town. I can't believe I forgot about Madison. What kind of friend am I?

"Y/N." Ciel calls, "Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah. I'm fine." I give them a small smile.

I feel the tears forming. Suddenly, I remember the dream.

Please don't cry anymore. I'll always be with you.

I smile softly and look out the window, up at the clear, blue sky.

She's right. She wouldn't want to see me sad. From now on, I'll only smile for her.

The carriage stops in front of a small shop.

I carefully get out and wait for Ciel and Sebastian. Looking at the building, I see the word, Undertaker, across the front.
