-Home - Chapter 17

3rd POV :

Home was something Keith never knew the feeling of , he was constantly moving around from the USA to Korea or Japan. He's never lived anywhere longer than 4 years. He's spent his whole life struggling to find home. People would say "home is where you heart is Keith" But , he didn't know where his heart was. But now he does. It's with lance. It's with Shiro. It's with his friends. It's in his small apartment him and lance now share. He knows now where his heart is. Lance is his home , his everything.

The two boys drove away from the beach it was late. Around midnight, lance drove and Keith sat in the passenger seat with Lances blue hoodie on. Keith thought it smelt so much like him. Lance had his hand on Keith's thigh as he drove. The song   "N.Y State of Mind" by Nas played in the back, the warm air coming from the Vents hitting the boys and filling the car. It was nice ... it was calm. Keith wanted to fall asleep , but stayed awake as he watched the road , the cars driving by , thinking about things like , how old is that car , what's the story behind the car , what would the driver look like?

Lance had a smile on his face. He was happy , his boyfriend sat next to him , 90's music playing in the back. The music was quite but lance still tapped along to the old beat with his hand on Keith's thigh. He was happy.

Lance kept driving , they were out of town by now , but it's okay. Keith has asked a couple of questions, but neither boys had work for the next two days , so they decided to drive for a bit.

Lance had stopped at a gas station to fill the tank with gas , while Keith went into the store and got some snacks and drinks.

Keith picked out basic snacks , off brand convince store snack food , a couple of water and sodas. God was he going to have to workout a lot to lose the weight, but he didn't care.

He payed the total and went back to the car , as he did the car had finished filling up. Keith opened his door and sat down , placing the bag at his feet. He handed lance his Monster and but his Coke in the cup holder.

Before lance started the car he kissed Keith on the cheek , they hadn't really said a lot since they had got to the beach hours ago.

Keith's cheek turned red when he felt Lances lips on it. He smiled. He's home.

"I love you Keith Kogane" Lance said as he cupped Keith's cheek. "It's only you" he smiled and kissed him passionately. Lance was happy , Keith was happy.

"I love you to Lance McClain" Keith said after they broke for air from the kiss. "Hey lance..." Keith has to know one thing.

"Yea babe" lance asked starting the car.

"Why me?" Keith asked "why do you love me?"

"I love you , I love you because you make me happy , you make me a better person, you help me realize things I didn't see before. You helped me realize I don't need to live in fear of my dad , or what other people think." Lance said as he looked down at this lap , his smile had faded... one mention of his father and he's gone in his own thoughts.

"Lance" Keith said , snapping lance out of his thoughts.

"Yea Keith" Lance said as he looked up , bringing his smile back.

"You know why I love you?" Keith asked

"Cuz I'm a goofball that makes stupid situations even dumber." Lance said making Keith laugh a little.

"That and ... you are my home. Before I met you , I was always moving around , constantly. Shiro and I only had each other. Our parents always working. It was like they were never around. Since we moved around a lot we hardly had friends, spoke differently than others , dressed and acted different. We never really fit in you know." Keith was now looking out the car , into the parking lot of the gas station they were still parked in. "I was always to home is where my heart is , I didnt know where my heart was , whether it was in Japan , Korea , or some state in the USA. I never knew. Until I met you. Sure I've dated people , but they never loved me the way you do. You love me in a different way. You don't abuse me , you treat me like a person. You do t abuse my love for you." Keith stared at lance who was on the brink of tears. Keith grabbed his hand and held it tight. "The day I fell in love with you , was the day I realized your my home , my heart is with you , with Shiro , with all our friends. With my parents, he'll even with your siblings." Lance giggled a bit but that didn't stop tears from escaping, he always cried when Keith opened up. "Lance McClain , my love , my everything, I love you so much that words no longer can describe."
