Chapter 20: Regrets and to be Human

The pale yellow sun slowly rose to greet the dawn of another day. Its warm beams of light were cruelly met with the sight of a destroyed world. Several battles were fought throughout the night and all of the once great cities were falling into ruin. Bodies were everywhere and the planet smelled of spilled energon. To either side of the war for Cybertron, and to the neutrals, the sight of their home was sparkcrushing. In Kaon, Megatron didn't wake to any of that. He rose from his berth and looked beside him at the femme he loved. A young bot whose name was Firelight and boy did her name suit her! Her paint was soft red and orange, and her eyes were a teal blue. She was also a neutral; she fought on no side in the war and just wanted to be safe. Megatron had found her a long time ago, injured in a neutral camp. She was the only survivor of that raid and was taken prisoner for a short time. She had a fighting spirit and an attitude that could whip soldiers into shape in no time, but also was the kindest femme Megatron had ever met. Shortly, even in the middle of the war, Megatron and Firelight started to court then quickly became sparkbound. Now, Megatron was expecting to be a father with an amazing wife. Firelight slowly woke and looked at Megatron, love in her optics

"Morning Megsy," Firelight smiled, sitting up. Megatron gave her an exasperated smile at the hated nickname. Megatron stood up and motioned for Firelight to follow him. She slowly got out of bed and hurriedly walked beside him. They both left their room and made their way to Shockwave's lab. Firelight, even though she knew she had nothing to fear, kept a hand over her stomach were the small baby was. Their child was close to arriving and that would be a problem, which is one of the reasons why they are visiting Shockwave.

"Has he finished the thing yet?" Firelight asked as they arrived at the lab, still slightly unaware of what the thing was.

"I believe he has, and  I suppose I should tell you what it is," Megatron said. The doors opened as Shockwave let them in. The lab was massive and many scientists, including Knockout, were working on chemicals or weapons. But Shockwave had a special assignment, one that Megatron planned to use to hide Firelight and their child safely. All the cons at work stopped momentarily to acknowledge Megatron's presence and went back to work as Shockwave walked up to Firelight and Megatron.

"Lord Megatron, Firelight, I trust you are here for the prototype," Shockwave said. Megatron nodded and Shockwave lead them to a table the held nothing but three small circular disks. Firelight looked at them curiously. "What are they?" she asked.

"These are holoform programs. The Autobots have been using these to blend in with other species and to more thoroughly hide energon off-world. We copied their technology and have so far made these three disks," Shockwave explained. He tapped one of the disks and a holoform of a female human with blonde hair and blue eyes appeared. He tapped the one beside it and a holoform of a newborn human baby appeared too.
