"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" My two best friends said, jumping out from behind me.
"What makes it so happy?" I say simply,
"You're one year older!" The answer came from Faith, she was one of those people who will agree with you just to avoid a argument even though she couldn't disagree with you more.
"AND because you get to show off that your older than us" this came from William, he was the one who always makes sarcastic jokes to lighten the mood or.... just to make fun of you.
"Oh yes by a whole month, right?" I muttered just to annoy him. We continue down the parth that was dotted with wood huts and slowly made our way into the meadow that surrounds the town. We find our normal clearing and sat down.
The meadow itself is very pretty, it's filled with tall purple and gold flowers and further back there lies a dark forest which I have never been to. As we sat down we removed the surgical masks that cover every one in the towns face and for good reason. When our parents were little the air was polluted so that anyone who didn't wear one was filled with the need to commit suicide. I turn my head in thought looking into the thick forest and wondering what could be in there. When I turned back round my friends were doing the same
"Should we go? I asked.
