*Ellie’s POV*

Scott heaved a heavy sigh after the talk he had with his friend over the phone. He’s been cursing all this time and all I could do is just to listen and shut my eyes at the same time. Oh by the beard of Zeus, please don’t let my hopes down!

“Y—your c-car’s so close with mine a-and I… I—” I cried once more at Scott the moment he ended up the call. God, this is killing me.

I avoided his piercing stare. I cannot dare to face him in this state. I just thank God that we’re alone in the parking lot at the moment. I could still save myself from further humiliation.

“You’re lucky enough Monroe. These scratches are workable.” He stated. And that cued me to finally face him.

“Really? Oh, that’s a relief!” I breathe out while holding my chest. We’ve been here in this place for a few minutes now. Alas! My prayers worked!

“But you still have to pay for it.” He turned more serious and faced me, towering me with the height he has.

“What?” I asked pure dismay. Pay for it? He’s rich enough! As if he still needs my money.

As though he has read my mind, he continued, “Don’t worry. I don’t need cash.” He stepped closer and whispered, “I need you.”

I flashed him a blank look.

Scott breathed out through his nose and said in a very fast pace that almost made me choke out, “For one month, you’re gonna make my assignments, projects and all of those fuckin’ requirements. And oh, you should also buy me food whenever and whatever I like. You could either cook whenever I want to—it would always depend on my mood of course. And what else? Ah… In short, you do what I want you to do.”

“Are you crazy?!” He’s asking—no, he’s making me his personal maid!

“Or… you could also see the Marshall, which happens to be my Dad, and explain what you did to my car.”

“You’re despicable!”

********************

After spending hours of rolling and rolling and rolling on my bed, I still can’t doze myself off to sleep.

It’s damn hard for me considering the fact I’ve just messed with the wrong guy.

Ugh! Why Scott Maxwell of all people?!

We’ve been sharing classes for the past three years in high school but I’ve never intended to befriend him. He’s so damn annoying and proud! He thinks that the world revolves around him!
