Ed's POV

I woke up early the next morning, wanting to pick the developed footage up, and going to Father Gordon myself. I didn't want Lorraine to watch the footage and relive that moment.
I got out of bed as quietly as I could, Lorraine stirred a bit as I put the duvet back over her.

I watched her for a moment, her chest gently rising as she took a breath. She looked so peaceful, even though I knew inside her head a war was raging. Maybe we should stop... but I knew Lorraine wouldn't want to. For her this is a calling, it's in her DNA to help people. No matter what the cost.

I wanted to kiss her, but I knew that would wake her. She's a light sleeper, it's already a miracle I got out of bed without waking her... I take some clothes out of the wardrobe, and go downstairs. I changed in the study and went to the kitchen. I made a pot of coffee, extra strong. It will be a long day. I sat down and waited for the coffee to run though, took the newspaper and started reading.

"Were you planning to go all by yourself?" I jump up. Lorraine was standing right in front of me, arms crossed and smiling at me. "Uh no, I just couldn't sleep," I lied, knowing there was no point to do so, but maybe this time she wouldn't notice. "Ed, you're a terrible liar!" She giggled, "I'll go and get dressed!". I made oatmeal with maple syrup and a cup of chamomile tea. She smiled when she came down all dressed, followed by Judy and Georgiana. "Morning daddy!" Judy saif beaming. "Good morning, cupcake!" I smiled. "Wanna have some oatmeal?" I asked her. She grimaced, it was the exact same face as Lorraine. I laughed, "How about some pancakes then?" She nodded with a wide grin.

By the time the first pancakes were done, Lorraine had finished her oatmeal. Georgiana says "I'll finish up here!" I smiled at her and walked over to Judy, who looked at both me and Lorraine with big puppy eyes. "We'll be back before you know it, baby," Lorraine reassured her, putting her arms around her. Lorraine looked at me, smiling sadly.

We had to wait for the footage, it took an extra three hours for the company to develop it. Their machines kept stopping mysteriously. By the time we got to leave the company it was one pm, so we went to a diner to grab some lunch. We got the church to meet up with Father Gordon, at three in the afternoon.

We had almost four hours of footage to go through, and as expected Father Gordon made a problem about the fact that the family wasn't a member of the church, and what was worse was the girls weren't baptised. Even though he saw that they needed help, the evidence was compelling, he could approve a exorcism without approval of the Vatican. Just our luck!

Lorraine's POV

It was well past nine o'clock when we got to go home. Ed and I tried to convince the father to approve the exorcism, but he wouldn't budge. It had started to rain, and it was to dangerous to drive quickly. I just wanted to go home. I had been hoping to put Judy to bed tonight but I was out of luck.

We were about half an hour away from our house when I sensed something was wrong. For the next twenty five minutes I had this eerie feeling, I got increasingly nauseous. Suddenly I heard Judy calling me. "Mom!" She sounded terrified, her breathing was heavy. "Ed? There's something wrong," I turned to him. "What?" He said and drove a little faster. We pulled up our driveway and we could hear my mom and Judy screaming.

"Mom?" I yelled as we ran in, "What is it?" Ed asked,we saw my mom banging on the door of the study yelling frantically "What's wrong with her?" I panicked and ran to the door "Judy?" But quickly Ed said "Hey, move, move, move, move, move! Judy, get back, honey. Get back!" The only I could bring out was "Hurry!" Judy kept crying "Help! Help! Dad!" And Ed told her "Get away from the door Judy!" And started to bang on the door when all of the sudden it opened on it's own. I saw the rocking chair flying towards Judy, but Ed grabbed her before it hit her.

I was so relieved when Ed got her out as the chair smashed into hundred pieces. I stoked her hair and asked "Oh, god! Are you okay? She was crying, still scared out of her mind "There was someone rocking in the chair with Annabelle." Ed turned to look at me, I looked at him and he immediately went to the artefact room. Meanwhile I tried to calm Judy down, holding her close and kissing her, "It's okay!" I told her.

He came back up after a few moments and said "She's still in the case." Judy just kept crying and wouldn't let me go as we both looked to Ed. I stroked her head again, turned back to look at her, gave her some more kisses and kept saying "It's okay. It's okay."

It took us almost an hour to get her back to sleep, I knew she wouldn't want to sleep alone tonight, so I put her in our bed and laid down with her until she slept. I left the bedroom when I was sure she was fast asleep and then the phone rang. Given the time, it couldn't be good!
