As I walk Lucas to my brother and best friend, before we even step five feet away, a drunk Joey runs and collapses onto his long lost friend. "LUCAS!" He yells, hitting him in the gut playfully and gently. I'm genuinely surprised he recognised him because he already looks so drunk. I'm completely sober and my eye's betrayed me. But it could be because I'm only selectively observant...

"Joey! What the heck? He just came back from the dead and you're just going to kill him?" Caleb scorns, helping Lucas up whom is in hysterics. Are they real tears? Is Joey crying?!

"Geez, aren't I glad to see you guys. I didn't even recognise your sister, Caleb." Lucas grins, pointing at me, rolling his eyes at Joey as he bawls his eyes out.

"You found him first?" Caleb says in front of Joey, whom is currently pouting from being yelled at earlier, rubbing his tears away a little too roughly. Geez he's going to punch himself in the face if he's not careful.

"I didn't recognise him until he saw you two weirdos." I reply nonchalantly, shrugging.

"Man, it's been too long, I'm sorry we didn't get in contact. We tried-" Caleb begins but is cut off by Lucas.

"Oh it's fine. Plus Alex already told me, and I suspect my parents were probably behind it. It's great to see you three again, though." He smiles, bringing Caleb in for a bro hug.

Joey being Joey, he joins the bro hug. And then I'm abruptly pulled into the hug by Caleb.

I pull away with everyone else and we converse nostalgically and talk about what has been happening currently and what will be happening soon regarding Uni and work. As time passes it is then a thought pops into my brain. It really takes someone coming back from the dead to make your screws loose. Well that's what I'm blaming it on because it's totally not like I forget things on a daily basis unintentionally.

"So I'm going to go check out the garden now, if you need me, or want to join me, I'm there. Fingers crossed I don't get lost!" I say and wave goodbye after crossing my fingers for emphasis.

After making it out of the thick of the party, I head outside the glass sliding door, ignoring some curious eyes that follow me. Not because I'm special or anything, but because I just left the house. Yet still for reassurance I fix my dress by pulling it further down my thighs and fix up my hair by pulling it over my shoulders. I look up from the path on the ground my eyes were stuck to and notice hedges of green parallel to each other. From what I noticed when I first got here, this zigzagging path should lead down to a fountain with a beautiful variety of flowers circling it, so that's what I do. I realise now that the hedges were placed strategically to look like a maze but not to actually be one, as there's only one way to move forward or backwards.

I successfully make it to my destination and a small smile meets my lips as I appreciate the landscape. Blue, red, purple, pink, orange, yellow, white. Many colours bless my eyes. I've always been a fan of gardens, it in itself is a work of art. My feet take me to the garden, a green house of glass surrounding trees lit with fairy lights meet my gaze. It's so beautiful, like a fairy garden. The dimness of the light makes the lights shine elegantly, the whole atmosphere is just so comforting. A perfect spot to sit and read a book if I'm being totally honest.

I walk straight for the greenhouse and stand at the entrance. I'm surprised no one thought to sit in here. You can barely hear the music since it's pretty far from the mansion.

"Hey, again." A familiar voice says, gathering my attention.

I spin on the spot with a slight jolt of surprise and witness Lucas entering the greenhouse closely behind me. "Oh hey, so you did decide to join me." I laugh, ruffling a hand through my slightly knotted hair. Gah! I swear the longer and thicker your hair is, the easier it is to become knotted from only breathing.
