The Ghost in My House

Chapter three

Another family moved in. This was the sixth  family to stay in the house..his house. They didn't know he was there of course. No matter how hard he tried no one noticed him,so he eventually just gave up. William had to just sit and watch families live their happy little lives with their significant other and children. The new family seemed nice at least. A little girl and her mother . "It seems like they moved in a hurry " William said aloud. He got in the habit of talking aloud to himself since he had no one else to talk to. He leaned on the wall as he watched the girl rush up stairs while her mother went back outside. But as he expected he heard the child start crying. William was aware of all the sharp objects up there and figured she either cut herself or just fell. The mother rushed past him up the stairs just to return a few moments later with Amelia. Once she was calmed and helping her mother he noticed she kept looking over at him. So William waved and to his shock, a little hand waved back at him. She gave a shy smile then buried her head into Courtney's arm. "Who are you waving at dear"Courtney asked. Amelia responded by pointing towards him. Courtney just took it as a imaginary friend since no one was standing there and played along,waved, then went back to what she was doing. William couldn't believe it. For the first time in about eighty years someone seen him. He didn't want to push his luck and scare her so William went upstairs going into what used to be his bedroom. "Someone seen me.. of course it's a child. She still may be able to help me. Might have to wait a few years so she can actually understand what I need her to do but this is a good start." No one knew what happened to William. Before his wife left they just threw him in a secret compartment in the basement and sealed it up. Everyone thought he took off with his wife but there were rumors and suspicions that he was killed but that was years ago. No one cared about a old cold case like that. He had no children or family to wonder where he went. He had a few friends but no one to really look for him. William thought that if someone were to find him and maybe just give him a proper burial he could be set free but honestly he had no idea.
