I could feel the warm sun dance across my skin. I watched the waves crash against the shore as it left a thin layer of foam on the wet sand.

We were... somewhere. A little north of nowhere, a bit west of anonymous. It was the last day of our annual family vacation and Calix surprised us with this spot. It was absolutely breathtaking.

The sound of an innocent and childlike laugh followed by screams of joy flowed around me. I watched as Calix ran after our son, grabbing him and lifting him into the air, a wide smile etched into his face.

I got up, my toes sinking in the sand as I walked over to them. "Come on, it's time to go. We have to go or we'll miss our flight." Calix let out a small sigh, "Let's come back next year, just you and me." My heart fluttered as I watched Calix, the sun illuminating him, giving him a soft angelic glow. As I took him in, I could feel my heart begin to race. 6 years with this man and my love for him has only grew.

He gave me a soft smile and stroked my cheek. He came closer, planting a tender and gentle kiss on my lips, leaving his hand lingering on my face just a while longer.

"Eleanor?" He looked down for a moment and grabbed my hands, "Yes?" He pulled my hands bringing me closer and engulfed me in a warm hug. "Thank you for giving me a chance."With my ear pressed up against his chest, I could hear the pounding of his heart. I closed my eyes for a moment and wrapped my arms around him, enjoying the feeling of his warmth. "I loved you too much to have any other choice"

"Mom! Dad! Let's go!" I let out a small giggle and pulled away to see my son with crossed arms, tapping his foot impatiently as he waits for us to unlock the car. "You ready to
head home?" I said, holding out my hand. He grabbed my hand and sighed, " I guess so. But next time, it'll be the two of us no matter what."

We got in the car and headed off.
