I wrote this story almost a year ago and I'm in a way rewriting the entire thing. I'm slightly changing the plot and changing many things about the characters.
I really didn't want to give up on this book so here I am, trying to fix it.

Naruto awoke late at night on his floor. He fell asleep doing homework again. He looked at the paper he had been working on. He had only done one of the problems out of 10 and the assignment was due today...or tomorrow. Naruto sat up and looked at his clock, "11:30 pm." It read. His mother always got upset when he didn't finish his homework. It was too dark to see the questions clearly and he was too tired to focus but not tired enough to fall asleep. Then, for some reason, he started thinking about Sasuke. Out of nowhere. Naruto blushed as his loopy half asleep mind trailed.
He wondered what Sasuke happened to be doing at that very moment. Probably sleeping. Was he having a dream? A nightmare? Why was he so interested in what Sasuke was dreaming about? Naruto had found himself thinking about Sasuke a lot. Maybe a little too much. Sometimes, when they were in class, he would find himself staring at him instead of his worksheet. He never thought much of it. He just looked up to Sasuke as a best friend. Nothing more. He wondered if Sasuke felt the same way about him. If he looked up to Naruto or maybe at least, saw his as a best friend.
Naruto tried to focus on his work to no avail. Naruto stood up and leaned over his bed to grab his phone. He plopped back down on the floor in front of his homework and started texting.
Sasuke woke up to the repeated sound of his phone buzzing. He looked at the time, '12:30am'.
Only one person would ever be texting him at twelve in the morning. He picked up the phone and unlocked it, the screen burnt his eyes but he didn't mind.
He looked at the person that texted him, 'Naruto'.
Naruto: Hey
Naruto: You awake?
Naruto: I can't sleep
Sasuke: Why the hell are you texting me at 12 in the morning.
Naruto: I told you it's cause I CANT SLEEP.
Sasuke: Boo hoo
Naruto: Come oooonnnnn. At least call me???
Sasuke: No
Sasuke shut off his phone and laid back down in his bed. He tried to fall back asleep but he couldn't. He was filled with a strange guilt from shutting Naruto down. He had done this same thing many times in the past. So why feel bad now? He tried to focus on sleep but the nagging feeling that Naruto was awake bored out of his mind in the dark was keeping him awake.
"Ugh fine!"
Sasuke picked up his phone and called Naruto.
"Hey Sasuke."
