It was over.

It was..truly over.

The weight of the entire scene that had just unfolded infront of me suddenly fell onto my shoulders. I clutched my chest as I fell to my knee's. I needed to breath.

I struggled but forced myself to swallow deep breaths, trying to calm my racing heart. I felt dizzy in this still, quiet air.

Did I really just...kill Amon?

"G-Ga--aahh..."

A sudden pained, rasping voice groaned behind me and my heart lurched into my throat.

Seth.

Before I could even process what my mind was willing me to do, I was up on my feet. I took a step, about to bolt to the injured 10 of Spades, but an unconscious thought made me hesitate.

I paused, glancing behind me to see the moon in its full form, shining down around us. It was within minutes of its destination in the middle of the sky: midnight.

I turned back to Seth, seeing his soft blue strands of hair falling around his face as he desperately tried to push himself up onto his feet. Blood was in spots all around him, and even some of his bright coloured ends of hair were now stained red.

I swallowed hard; but the decision was easy to make.

I blinked again and I was infront of him, panting at how fast and fearful I had run to his side.

Now that I wasn't 10 feet from him, I could see the details of his state much better. His shoulders were shaking, and he was clearly struggling to keep himself upright. Seth was on all fours, and was trying to push his one foot infront of him to stand.

He tried once again, but as soon as he shifted his weight to lean back and stand up, an agonized gasp fell from his lips. He began coughing harshly, and more spatters of blood fell from his lips.

I dropped to my knee's beside him. I felt so much pain for him..but I hadn't a single clue what to say. After all we had both been through..

"S-Seth.." I placed a hesitant, gentle hand on his shoulder; his hand was clutching the deep hole in his chest. His fingers, hand and wrist were stained a dark crimson.

After a few more harsh coughs, he finally quieted down. He stared at the bloodstained ground infront of him, his gaze reserved but suffering.

I had to get him to a doctor, now. Before it was too late.

With my left hand still comfortingly on his shoulder, I slipped my right arm across his chest to his opposite shoulder, making sure I didn't touch his wound. I fastened a soft grip on him.

"C-Come on...we need to get you checked---;"

"No."

His hand that clutched his chest grabbed onto my right wrist. In seconds I found myself face to face with him.

His face was spattered in blood smears, and he was biting his lip, seemingly an unconcious tick to deal with the pain. When I finally met his eyes after all this time, I gasped.

His face was stern and focused on trying to withstand his injuries, but in his gaze it was clear. He was holding back tears.

Every single mean thing I had said to him tonight came back to me in an instant, haunting me as the memories of my anger and resentment flooded through my mind. A 100 ton weight of guilt settled on my shoulders. This man, the strongest, smartest, and most resilient of the Black Army that I knew, had withstood years of torture by the Magic Tower. Here he was, kneeling infront of me with a gaping hole in his chest, and presumably minutes from fainting due to shock. Everything that had happened had finally broken him.
