Chapter 6 - falling apart

Mikes P.O.V

I couldn't breathe. I sat on my bed tears dripping down my face, my eyes stinging. The pounding headache getting worse and feeling like a jack hammer drilling into my skull. The door opened softly revealing Nancy standing there. She walked up to me and wrapped her arms around me "I know mike it's tough. It's hard to lose someone you love. I lost Jonathan and I'm fine, so why can't you?" She asked, I looked up at her, my bloodshot shot eyes staring into hers. She gave me a soft look "darn to hell! Of course I miss Jonathan, I can't just lose him! He's my everything like El is for you!" Her words slowly turned into sobs, I hugged her back. We both knew how each other felt. I closed my eyes and dozed of into the hug.

Nancy's P.O.V

I woke up to mike lying next to me asleep, I looked down at my shirt which was soaked in tears. I felt so bad for mike, he was a 15 year old boy and he had to go through this. I shouldn't have compared myself to him. I put the blanket over mike and walked into my room and checked the time. "HOLY SH** ITS 2am!" I whisper yelled. I hopped into my pajamas and went to sleep.

Ughhhh pounding headache, I shouldn't have cried that long. I got out of bed and peeked through mikes door, still sound asleep. I walked downstairs to the kitchen and saw mom. I knew she couldn't handle this, she was almost as depressed as mike. My whole family just felt like it was falling apart. "Mike?" I whispered, he looked at me with his puffy eyes. He had been crying again. "Come downstairs I'll make you some food." I grabbed his hand. "I don't feel like it." He replied blankly pulling his hand away from me. I grabbed his hand again and pulled him off his bed "Wow your first time walking." I laughed, he chuckled softly. We made eggos and got chocolates seeing as it was a dark, gloomy day. I haven't seen mike smile in a bit but I'm happy, I love his smile so much.
