Lukas POV

I need to find a way to keep her alive. But that wasn't my biggest problem. My problem was how I was feeling. Did this witch somehow sneak a spell on me? I felt protective of her for some reason.

Tossing in bed wasn't doing me any good. So I stood and got some clothes on. Then went to the fireplace. I know the irony, but it was a transportation portal. Grabbing a purple vial of sand I empty some in my hand.

"To the witch isles," I say and toss the sand in. Then jump through and land on the other side coughing.

"Welcome young demon prince." A sultry voice spoke.

Looking up is a young woman in a long white flowery dress. The keeper of this part of hell.

"I need to speak to elder Silvia." I stand and brush off. The keeper nods and sways to the side before disappearing.

Moments later she's back with an older witch. She has long silver hair braided to the side. She has pierced ears and a staff.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, of being summoned, young prince." She nods to me.

"I have to ask you about.." she cuts me off.

"Kierra Carter. The Witch Queen. Foretold to bring back the realm of where the witches now reside and bring together many allies. A very powerful asset." She walks around slowly in a circle.

"Um... ok?" Not sure why I needed that, but it helped to know who I was dealing with.

"And you are foretold to rule in your father's place." The elder stopped and looked at me.

"Yeah... I think I'm going to be a figurehead, he will never give up his throne." All the talk about me ruling hell was bullshit. Lucifer was power-hungry. That's why he took my mom.

"Destiny young one. You and the girl have an intertwined destiny. Follow your heart, it will guide you." She sat down on the ground.

I look at the keeper. "What was her crime?" I ask.

"Cursing a town before being burned on a stake. The town can never grow food and water seems to avoid it. Life is sparse, it's unlivable."

I nod. Very serious to defy the laws of nature. God never wanted the world to kill, it is a provider.

"I'm guessing her punishment was forever Hungry and parched," I ask, and the keeper nods. "She gets one sip of water, and one bite of an apple. Then her sentence continues."

The old woman gasps and I look at her. "I thank you for the information, but condemning people the way you did makes you just like them." I step back and grab a handful of sand.

The woman stares at me. "Follow your heart young prince." She said before I threw the sand and went home.

I jump through the sand barrier and land in my room. Brushing off the sand my thoughts wander. She is supposed to be powerful? If you think about it the dark magic demons use is similar to a witch. Most witches end up here because they do dark magic.

A pounding at my door broke me from my thought. I go and open it, almost being trampled by my mother.

"Mom?" I ask as she tugs Kierra behind her.

"You must take her to her body. She needs to leave this place. Your father will be awake soon and he will show no mercy to her." She lets go of the girl and comes up to me. "My son..." tears threatened to spill from her eyes.

"Mom?" I hug her and smooth down her hair. "Please, what's going to happen..."

She pulls back. "Not only will your father rule the world and make it hell... he will kill all the humans to make them a part of his demon army. Then he will go and concur with the realms. Starting with the witch." She glanced back.

He was planning on concurring globally and universally. Making an army to take out heaven. He would control everything. All the beauty and goodness would be gone. Sin would rule all.

"How can we leave? Only Lucifer can grant that access unless you want me to possess someone." Which was not an ideal option.

"There is one other way." she holds 2 pearls in her palm. "My pearls are enchanted, I can use them to travel to the middle world for a short time, then return.

"I don't want to return!" Kierra looks panicked.

"Don't worry dear, I have to because of my husband. You can stay there as long as you like." My mother comforts her with a hug.

"You both need to go to the same place. If Kierra holds on to you it should work." She gives us each a pearl. "Now, think of where your body is."

"I'm... there might be a problem with that." Kierra turns a shade of red.

    "What's that?" I ask her.

"My... master is there." She looks down.

"What the fuck do you mean?" I knew vamps were running the show up there, but I didn't know that she was a pet to one.

"Well... I'm a pet. Damian takes care of me though." She shuffles uncomfortably.

"The isn't much time. Enough with the melodrama." My mother says irritated.

I step over and pull Kierra close. "Let's go, he can deal with me later." I roll my eyes. We break the pearls in our hands and a shimmer of mist forms around us.

"Mom, be safe. " I tell her before I merge with the mist and get pulled back to the middle world.

"I love you." I heard her say as inky blackness took over. The sensation numbed my body head to toe. I felt a rush of airflow past me and before I knew it we were in a room.
