Kierra's POV
The bite mark on my wrist still hurt. But I didn't let it show. I felt that maybe Damian could have been a little nicer when he did it, but I didn't question him. I was dizzy afterwards and could barely keep from falling to the floor.
Now we were walking around town and I was focusing on one foot in front of the other. Then when one of the 3 vampires spoke to me I would immediately answer. It wasn't often though. They basically ignored me which was fine by me.
Dracula kept eyeing me tho, it was kind of scary the way he looked at me. He caught me a few times glancing his way and I dropped my eyes back to the ground. Vladimir only commented on how good I smelled. Then switched the topic again.
We walked all over town and ended up at this weird little shop. Vladimir seemed excited and started speaking in a different language. Dracula and Damian both chuckled and spoke it too.
"I'll take you inside grandfather. Are you coming to Dracula?" Damian asked in English, and although my head was down I could feel the vampire shake his head.
"I'll pass, I would like to look around some more. I can watch your pet as you go in." There was silence for a brief moment.
"That's good, thank you." My leash is handed off and I look as they enter the shop. I had an uneasy feeling about this.
Dracula began walking and I jogged to keep up. I wasn't dizzy anymore at least, I could move around better now, but I did have a headache. We went about 3 blocks and turned in an alleyway.
It was a dead end. I was confused for a few moments and didn't have time to comprehend anything before I felt myself against a wall.
"You smell absolutely delicious my dear. My son may not like sharing, but I don't mind taking." His fangs gleamed as he smiled.
Fear ran through me as I kept my head down. Damian made it clear that I wasn't going to be shared. On top of that, I don't think I could handle any more blood loss.
The vampire pushed me back with enough force to knock the wind out of me. I hadn't even realized I was trying to get away, my instinct was kicking in.
"Now now... your not going anywhere." He lifted my head and stared me straight in the eyes. "Your not going to scream. Your not going to run. And you most certainly will not tell your master what happened here. Do I make myself clear?"
I nodded in a trance-like state. My body seemed frozen in place even though I was desperate to run. Not that I could get away from a vampire...
Dracula tilted my head and exposed my neck. Then he started humming to himself. He caressed my neck and sniffed it. I couldn't even open my mouth. Where was Damian!
"This will hurt, I relish in the thought of how that gorgeous face will look in pain." He grinned evilly and I felt tears start to form. He grabbed my head and chomped down. It hurt like nothing I've ever felt before. I felt the blood rushing out of me quicker than when Damian did it.
The tears that formed spilled over my face. This was torture, the pain seemed to only grow the more blood he took. He even bit down harder. I started to see black spots and stars danced in my vision. My legs gave out but an arm wrapped around my waist.
Then I fell to the ground. The teeth on my neck were gone but I still felt the blood rushing out. I heard angry shouting and then was lifted up. I blacked out when I felt the strong arms of Damian.
~~~~~~~~~some time later~~~~~~~~~~
I fluttered my eyes open and was staring at a white ceiling. Ok, that's a bit different. I move my head to the right and winced at pain on my left side neck. I wince again as I try to reach up and touch it. There are cords and wires on my arm.
"Good, your awake my dear." A nurse holding a clipboard seemed to be jotting down some numbers as I looked around.
"Where am I?" My voice was strained and it felt dry. I needed something to drink.
As if knowing my thoughts the nurse walked over to a pitcher and poured a glass of water. She came over and instead of handing it to me, she helped me drink. I wasn't too thrilled about it until I realised I didn't have much energy to hold the cup.
It was refreshing and I felt better after I drank it. "Your in a hospital, more precise, your in a human hospital." She went back to her papers.
Slowly the events that led me here were unfolding. I cringed at the memories and stifled the urge to cry. The nurse left after seeing if I needed anything. Of course I told her I didn't.
I didn't even want to know what happened while I was out. Or how long I had been out. My mind raced like a tornado with thoughts of being in a coma or worse. Having died and being brought back.
The door opened again and this time Damian stepped through. He walked to my side and gingerly touched my cheek. "How are you feeling?" He held a calm and passive tone, but his eyes held worry, stress, and something else.
"I'm not sure. I feel groggy and I'm still thirsty but I don't hurt. More like... I just need a really good stretch." I watch him carefully as he nods.
"Well, I'm glad you're ok. And I know how you are so I'm going to tell you. You were only out for 2 days. You had a lot of bad injuries due to your falling. And you were close to death from blood loss." He paused as his eyes turned dark.
Clearing his throat he continued. "My father is banned from this city for taking my property and I had the king to back up my decision. My grandfather may be old-fashioned but even he knows the value of one's property."
He moved to sit in a chair and it allowed me to talk. "So? 2 days asleep, I almost died, and Dracula isn't allowed back in the city." I recapped and went on. "How am I alive then? 2 days and blood loss? That seems quick even for a human." I tried to piece together everything but it didn't add up.
"Well, 2 things contributed to your healing. The main one was I fed you my blood. It allowed you to not only heal rapidly but it made your blood work overtime to create new ones. The second still helped but you would have still died. You are different than most humans Kierra. You have... magic." He hesitated before he said the last word.
