Chapter 65: We Need Ingredients

(Dottie's POV)

Mrs. Oates just entered the room with a cookbook she had in her apartment.

"Here we are! My recipe book. Now I know it isn't as fancy as the websites on the internet. But, I've cooked up a neat soup that could cure any cold." Mrs. Oates explained.

Ah! So that's what Kawaii~Chan and Mrs. Oates were looking for.

"She has a spell book!" Rhys whispered.

"Cookbook..." I thought.

"Actual human spells?" Asch said confused.

"But we can't read well." Noi added.

"I can." Rhys told him.

"Great! Then let's kill her for it!" Leif said.

Aphmau immediately takes off one of her flip-flops and smacks Leif in the face with it.

"Ow!" He exclaimed.

Aphmau puts her flip-flop back on.

"We need to help Ava first." Aphmau told Leif.

"That's right..." Kawaii~Chan said.

Mrs. Oates looks at us.

"Hmm... you know, whispering in front of other people isn't a very nice thing to do." Mrs. Oates said to us.

I have a look of sadness on my face.

"Our sincerest apologies." I tell her.

"Aren't manners reserved for royalty?" Asch asked me.

I smack him in the face.

"D— ow!" Asch exclaimed.

Mrs. Oates eyes widen.

"R- Royalty?" She asked.

She gasps.

"W-wait... are you guys from out of the country?" Mrs. Oates asked us.

My eyes widened. I can't let the demons spill the beans about their world!

"Huh?" Pierce questioned.

"What does that mean?" Noi asked.

"Y-Yes! Umm... we are from... another kingdom!" I said.

"Phew... Good save Dottie." Melissa mumbled under her breath.

"Oh my!!" Mrs. Oates exclaimed.

She gasps with glee as she drops the cookbook.

"You just reminded me of my old flame Kyle." Mrs. Oates said.

Rhys raises an eyebrow.

"Flame?" He questioned.

"A prince of fire?" Leif asked.

"A rival for a kingdom." Asch said.
