Chapter 71: Dottie And Rhys

(Dottie's POV)

Welp, the demons wrecked a car, we almost got murdered, and Melissa took her anger out on Asch. I'm sure she's still angry with the demons. Leif teleported us back to Ava's apartment. Mrs. Oates turns around and notices us. Kawaii~Chan opens her eyes.

"Oh! I didn't even hear you guys come in." Mrs. Oates said.

"We were quiet." I said to Mrs. Oates as I chuckled nervously.

Mrs. Oates notices the faint bruise on Asch's cheek.

"Oh my, what happened to you?" She asked.

Melissa glares at him as she tries to hide her anger.

"I uhh... tripped and fell." Asch said.

"Oh, you should be more careful." Melissa said sarcastically.

"Shh! Ava could still be sleeping." Said Kawaii~Chan.

"Oh how considerate. But you don't have to be quiet anymore. Ava's awake." Mrs. Oates said.

The demons eyes widened.

"She is?" They all asked.

"Mm-hmm, but she's still sick. So trust me, the ingredients you got me were not in vain. I just got tired of waiting for hours for you guys. So I decided to start sooner using a few things I already had in my home. Do you think you two can help me?" Said Mrs. Oates.

"Me?" Said both me and Rhys.

Pierce places the bag of groceries on the counter.

"Yes." Mrs. Oates said.

She then looks at Rhys.

"You seem to be the smartest, and the most handsome in my opinion." She said.

I start to get upset.

"MRS. OATES!" I said.

"Ummm..." Rhys says.

"Do as needed Rhys and Dottie. I'm going to go check on princess Ava." Asch said as he walked away.

"Myself as well." Pierce said.

"What they said." Leif added.

Leif and Pierce begin to follow Asch. Melissa walks to the bathroom and Kawaii~Chan follows her.

They both turn around to look at me.

"Kawaii~Chan, Melissa! You guys too?" I asked.

"I just need to wash off my face." Melissa said with exhaustion.

"Yeah. And I need a break from today." Kawaii~Chan added.

I saw the purple cat and it purred up against Kawaii~Chan's leg. Before we left earlier she told me she named it Mirage.

Kawaii~Chan follows Melissa and they both walk into the bathroom.

"But... ugh, fine. I see this as an opportunity to learn more." Said Rhys.

"Perfect! Now, get the book and read off the ingredients to Mrs. Oates. I think her memory isn't so good these days, so I assume she enjoys being thorough." I said.

"You've got that right." Mrs. Oates said to me.

Rhys opens up the cookbook and flips to the potato soup page.

"Umm... it says, in... a large... sa-ou-ce... pain... cook... ba-con." Rhys says.

"Poor vision?" I thought.

I looked at him thoughtfully.

"Hmm... I think I see the problem." I said.

Rhys looks at me.

"Uhh... there's a problem?" He asked me.

"There sure is. Hold on one second." I told him.

I walked over to Mrs. Oates and asked if she had a pair of glasses I could use. She handed me a pair and I walked over to Rhys.

"Lean over to me." I said.

Rhys leans over and I put the glasses on his face.

"Huh?" He asked in confusion.

"Ta-daaa!" I said happily.

"M-my eyes... I can see better." Rhys said.

I smiled.

"I thought that might be the case. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that you needed glasses." I said.

Rhys shakes my hand.

"You are indeed a wise... woman." He said to me.

"Phew! At least he didn't call me a Lu'pine..." I thought.

I chuckled.

"Oh don't flatter me to much." I said.

I slightly blush.

"You're just lucky Mrs. Oates had an extra pair. But the bad news is you have the vision of an old lady like Mrs. Oates. When was the last time you had glasses?" I asked him.

He stops shaking my hand and I stopped blushing.

"Glasses?" He asked.

"Never mind." I said.

"Now you can see Ava's beauty better when you're all having fun." Said Mrs. Oates.

"I can't fall for Rhys. My heart belongs to Daniel. I'm just helping him learn more about earth." I thought

I see Melissa and Kawaii~Chan walking out of the bathroom.

"I'm gonna go check on Ava. I'll be right back." I told Mrs. Oates.

"Alright." She said.

I walk over to Melissa and Kawaii~Chan.

"You two okay?" I asked.

"Had better days..." They both said to me.

"Okay. Wanna see how Ava's doing?" I asked them.

"Yep." Kawaii~Chan replied.

"Kinda..." Melissa added.

They both still looked pretty exhausted from the crash earlier. I am too. All three of us enter Ava's room and we spot Ava laying on the bed with Johnny and Aphmau was sitting on her sleeping bag near the TV.
