Beep- Beep my alarm clock ran I jumped out of my bed and headed to the bathroom. Today is super important Abby is holding an audition to find two new dancers for her team and my bestie Maya and my boyfriend Jake is both auditioning with me. Once I finished getting ready I FaceTimed Maya and Jake Amelia: hey guys I'm ready for the audition so excited Jake: me too babe we're going to do great Amelia: we will Maya: what time is the audition Jake: 8:00 am Maya: thanks Amelia: well I have to head to the audition bye babe, bye Maya Jake: bye see you there Maya: byeeeee see you when we make it on the team. After I texted Jake and Maya it was time to head to the audition. "You excited"my mom said on our way to McDonald's we decided that I should eat before we go "yeah but also nervous there is definitely going to be good dancers"I said "I know you, you will be fine"my mom said. When we finally arrived to the audition we saw a line starting to form outside the gym where the audition was taking place. We got there pretty early so the line wasn't that long but since the audition starts at 8:00 and it was 7:46 it was going to be a while. I decided to stretch starting with my spilts it was the side walk but the road was closed for auditions so it was fine. After I stretched I decided to do some tricks so I would be prepared mostly my back handspring, and my scorpion turn. Once I did that I got a text from Maya. Maya: wow this line is long Amelia: what were you expecting it's an audition to be on Abby's team of course it will be long Maya: yeah but still this is a lot of people Amelia: yeah but we can handle it Maya: yeah your right. Finally after what felt like forever Abby opened the doors to the gym. It was a chance of a lifetime and I was here. Once we were inside I stretched again I need to make sure nothing will go wrong at the audition after that I went to go talk to Maya and Jake. Amelia: I'm nervous like there are so many good people here. Maya: you will do fine you have everything Abby would love the flexibility, the emotion, the technique if she doesn't chose you I'll be surprised. Jake: yeah Maya's right don't freight you'll be fine. Then Abby started speaking "okay dancers you should of gotten a number, when you walked in, you will get in rows of ten, and then we will teach you a combination and you will dance it over and over again until only 100 of you there are 500 of you that's a lot so 400 of you will be going home got it" Abby said "yes mam" all 500 of us said "moms their is a viewing room upstairs you can watch the girls there"Abby said I hugged my mom bye and she headed upstairs to the viewing room. "Okay first we are going to start with some tricks my dancers need to be flexible and be able I do any trick I throw at them let's start with splits"Abby's said as we got in ours rows and started out splits. I'm number 246, Maya is number 347, and Jake is 174 hopefully our numbers don't get called. "Number 346, and number 167 if you can't do a split you shouldn't have came"Abby said and I saw two kids running to their parents in tears. "That was good next I want you to do a tilt it's easy but I want good technique, you have bad technique bye it was great having you"Abby said and we did the tilt I saw a few kids wobble but I did pretty well. "Number 345, 487, 111, and number 24 you tilts were awful work on it"Abby said. Abby called out tricks for us to do like aerials, and back handsprings, and other tricks like that. "Okay girls I want you to do a scorpion we don't use it a lot but all my girls can do it can you"Abby said and we got into our scorpion most of us did good but a few were sent home "good now I want to see a scorpion turn it's hard but if you can't do then too bad for you"Abby said and we started out scorpion turn. I was nervous for Maya she doesn't really have her scorpion turn down I am praying that she doesn't fall. "Number 347, and number 13 bye"I heard Abby say that was Maya's Number my heart drop as she passed by me I gave her a sorry look and went back to dancing as much as I want to give her a hug I can't let Abby see that I could go home. Once it was down to 300 of us Abby taught us a chore it was lyrical and very pretty. Once we learned it we took a water break so we could be ready for the auditions. While I was getting water I decided to talk to Maya and Jake Maya: I can't believe I got out that early I should of rehearsed that scorpion turn last night but I didn't Amelia: we all knew one of us wouldn't make it I just wish we could of been though this together onger. Jake: at least you still got me babe. Amelia: yeah and if Maya isn't in at least you are. "Okay water break over let's see who will stay"Abby said and Jake and I left Maya and headed to our spots. Me and Jake were right next to each other so he gave me a hug we started the dance. I saw a few girls get out in the beginning ether they were early, late, or forgot all together. With them gone 267 kids were left and I was pulling out all the stops i could I really wanted to be on this team. After I while it was down to 230 they got out mostly because of emotions, technique, or flexibility. I was doing really well dancing like it was a competition and before I knew it Abby said "well looks like we have our final 100 give you self a pat on the back, but it's not over tomorrow we will go over those tricks again just to double check is wasn't by luck you got it the first time, then you will learn a different dance and then we will have our final five okay bye guys see you all tomorrow"Abby said and Jake and I walked out and ran to Maya Maya: soooo Amelia + Jake: we are the top 100 Maya: really that's huge but I'm not surprised you guys are great Amelia: thanks. "Amelia come on we have to go home so you can be well rested for tomorrow tell Jake and Maya bye okay" my mom said "okay"I said "bye guys"I said "bye babe I'll FaceTime you later" Jake said "yeah I'll try"Maya said Jake and I hugged and me and my mom headed home I ate some dinner then I FaceTimed Jake. Amelia: hey boo Jake: hey you excited for tomorrow. Amelia: duh. Jake: what. Amelia: it's just I'm nervous it's getting harder and one mishap and I go home. Jake: you'll be fine and you got me who's better than me Amelia: no one Jake: that's good to hear Amelia: well I have to go bye boo Jake: bye babe see ya tomorrow.
