Time to Think

There were several very long minutes of screaming and loud noises followed by two heavy thuds. Then there were hands cupping my face and Alastor's soothing voice telling me I could open my eyes again. Slowly, I opened my (E/C) eyes to find Alastor's crimson gaze on me.

"(Y/N), are you alright?" He asked softly, looking me over.

"I...I think so." I replied, shakily.

My eyes moved from him to the carnage around us. John and his gorilla henchman were torn to litteral shreds, blood ribbons and bits of bone strung out around the room like some macabre confetti cannon had gone off.

Sensing my shock, Alastor picked me up in his arms. I laid my head against his shoulder, my heart beat slowly returning to normal. Carrying me bridal style, he took me out of the gore filled warehouse and to the town car he had come in.

I barely registered the car ride from the crime scene to my apartment. Helping me inside, Alastor sat me on the couch, taking his own seat next to me. Silence stretched between us as I tried to put my thoughts together.

"(Y/N)?" Alastor asked, concerned.

I turned to look at him, "What the hell happened back there?"

Alastor gave me a confused look, "What do you mean?"

"I was at a concert and the next thing I know I'm in a hostage situation."  I explained. Any hint of a smile was completely gone from Alastor's face. His gaze searched my face, trying to figure out what I meant.

"I'm a DJ, Alastor." I said, "I don't know what all that was that happened tonight, but it's not my scene."

"(Y/N), I'm sorry," He replied, taking my hand in his, "I never meant for you to get mixed up in all that." I shook my head, my mind was absolutely frayed from everything that had happened. I needed some time to think things through.

"I need to be alone for a bit." I said quietly. Alastor hesitated for a second before dropping my hand. Slowly, he stood up and walked to the door. I watched him go, noticing how he paused for a second to look back at me before walking out, closing the door quietly behind him.
