Everything Is Lost (RICK GRIMES TWDFF)

Chapter 12- Just Talk

I got shown the showers and made myself clean one again.  After, I was lead to the group of people i first met.  Luke is already there talking to Rick and Clem and I approach everyone. 

Bryan pulls me over to him to meet everyone.  I still hold  into Clem letting her know im no different from when she first met me. Luke and Clem look at me like im dangerous now.

"This here is everybody.  Daryl, Carl, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie." He continues. "That's  Beth and Judith. Carol is the one cooking right now.  This is pretty much all of us."  I give a little smile.  It's  been so many years since I've  seen my brother and niece.  I just wish the others were too.  Sky has grown three years which makes her 15 now.  She sits with that boy Carl.

"Clem, you might be two years younger than her but go on and chat." I touch her shoulder but she stays by me. "Im better with adults Amia. Trust me." I go back alittle and realize  she is.

"How did you guys and my brother and niece end up together?" I ask questioning.

"We met while at the CDC.  We crossed paths and decided  we could work on together." Rick adds on. 

"We actually  went to the CDC.  That's  how you guys found us." Luke says.

Daryl raises an eye brow.

"We had a house up the street before you  brought us here....these guys tild us it was still up and running.  And knowing us, we believed  it."  I tag along.

"We went to the hospital and got ourselves  into a tight situation. We've  all been to the city before and it's  ambushed with walkers."

"I hope you guys can chew and talk.  There's  goingnto be a lot of that today and tomorrow." Carol brings plates out to everyone with warm peas and other foods. "Thank you."

Clem and I sit in the floor grounds with my brother as there are not enough seats and tables.

I notice Rick staring at me again and instead of looking away, I smile at him letting him know I'm not dangerous. 

He keeps hsi straight face.

I look back at my plate.  "So who's  this governor you said we could be apart of?" I decide to ask Daryl whi stands with Rick. "Some douche bag who's  been tryin to take over this place.  He's  gone all sorts of crazy.  Kidnapped our people and wants war with us.  Figured you might be prying on us."

"His name doesn't  ring a bell."

"How did you guys meet?" Carl asks.  I look at the boy who i hear for the first time.  I look at everyone. 

"Luke actually  saved my life.  I'd  probably  die of infection.  I had an injury and i got cought in the store. We had a bigger group when i was taken back but they were different."  I nudge Luke on the side as a thanks for saving me. If it wasn't  for him, i wouldn't  be here with my family.

I finish eating as notice how time has passed from grtting to know everyone.  I got to hear how they met Hershel and the problems caused  at his farm. 

"It's getting late everybody.  Ill show you three your rooms."  Rick holds out a flash light for us to follow.  "Are you two a..couple?" He points at Luke and I and he responds  quickly.  "No." He simply says.  

Luke takes the room he points out and leads Clem and us.  "The last cell open is next to mine. I'm  not much of a party person." Rick adds.  I chuckle seeing Rick has humor to his leader ship. 

Clem and head on the bed and i let her in first.  I feel as if she is my own. 

"Rick," i quietly call before he can leave.

"Thanks  for keeping  my family safe." I smile  and he nods in return.  This man i just met keeps to himself and i want to discover more about him.
