Simply Ineffable

Newt

I hear the doorbell ring and mum yells for me to come into the kitchen and make tea and coffee. Mum opens the door and welcomes our guests into the lounge room. I try to avoid them by walking out of the bathroom and straight into the kitchen. I boil the water and bring the coffee and tea stuff into the lounge room. Mums voice echoes in my head don't speak unless spoken to. "Welcome Archangel Gabriel and Lord Beezlebub. Who have you go here?" I hear mum say to the guests. Archangel Gabriel's family? What's so important they come to our house? From the door I hear Archangel gabriel say "These are our children. The boy is called Adriel and the girl is called Allison" I didn't know he had kids. I watch them walk in as I finish bringing the boiling water, being careful not to spill it, I don't want two burns today. I look at the people. There's the normal, Archangel Gabriel and Lord Beezlebub but there's also two children. I smile as the girl says "I didn't know you had a son" but she instantly covers her mouth. Do they do the same thing mum does? I don't see any burn marks on them "Sorry" she apologies
"It's quite alright child. This is my dis- I mean son, Newt" Mum says, I almost laugh at the slip up on words. I see the archangel shift his weight. The lord of hell breaks the silence by saying "Newt. An unusual choice of a name". I mum tense as the impulse hits me, this always happens when someone says something about my name, after all it was my dads.
"No stranger than yours" I mutter. The lord scoffs and I yelp in fear, I don't need to know what the lord of hell can do to me. "NEWT!" Mum yells
"Sorry mother" I say, cowering back to my little corner. Suddenly the door bursts open. "Sup fuckers!" Someone yells. There is laughter coming from the door. The adults sigh. "Crowley dear" a voice I recognise as aziraphale says.
"Sorry Angel"
"Aziraphale and Crowley. Glad you could come. Now we can start" Mum says, sighing at the presence of Crowley. Lilith smiles as she walks in and I blush. I've had a crush on her for god knows how long. I hear the others talking about something to do with Gillan but my head is focused on the girl with one snake eye who is clinging onto Crowley. "Newt take the kids to the backyard this is an adult discostion." I nod and the kids look at me to find where that are going. I walk past all of the adults and into the backyard.
