1 week later

Jade still had no idea where that mystery girl had gone. But what she did find out was her name, after violently looking through her yearbook, once prom had ended. Her name is Rose- Rose Selfridge. She was a new student, which is why she had never seen her before. That, and the fact that her school was huge and filled with too many students to have seen all of them before. But putting aside the memories with her friends and even all that happened in her high school experience, all she could think about was that damn girl.

At the mall, Kristen, Holly, Callie, Jade were hanging out, like they often do in the summer time. But all that Jade could focus on was skimming through all of the red heads she would pass by, like she had been doing since the day she met her. No luck though. Callie then grabbed Jade's arm before saying;

"Ooh, Jade! What about that guy over there?"

Jade then rolled her eyes and pretended to be interested before making up yet another excuse as to why she was actually not interested and said;

"No, he's too... short."

Holly then sighed and said;

"Come on, Jade. Don't you at least want to experience a summer fling or something?"

"Well it's not my fault that the guys here aren't my type.", Jade replied, feeling defensive.

Kristen then interrupted and said;

"You've literally been single your whole life- you're clearly way too picky!"

Feeling attacked again, Jade snapped and said;

"Girls, just drop it! You've been at this for years, what makes you think this summer's going to be any different with me?"

Holly then crossed her arms, realizing that Jade wasn't going to change her mind anytime soon and said;

"Fine, your loss."

Callie then squealed and said;

"Eep! There's a sale at that new boogie lingerie shop! We have to go check it out!"

She then dragged Holly by the arm and Kristen ran along at their pace, leaving Jade slightly behind them, as she was already back to looking for any red headed girl in sight.

On the drive home, the car's top was down and the girls were playing music as they sang along- feeling happy about their latest purchases. Jade had her arms crossed and rested out of the window, with her head resting on them as the wind blew in her hair. While driving by the beach, Jade took the time to reflect on some of the things in her life, while admiring the view. While thinking about how even if she didn't know where that mystery girl was now, she still felt happy knowing that she got to experience what it was like to be with a girl, before leaving high school. And even if she didn't need that to happen to prove that she liked girls, it was definitely an added confirmation that she truly did, because that was the closest she had ever felt to anyone- even if she didn't really know her at all.

But as she was still looking out of the window, she couldn't help but notice a red headed girl at the beach, laying on a towel while reading a book. And even if Jade had seen plenty of ginger's since the event took place, this time, she had a feeling that it just might be the girl she was looking for. It was almost as if their connection was so strong that you could even feel it from far away. But she couldn't tell her friend to pull over because they weren't even on the right side of the road to begin with. But they also had no idea that she even knew who that girl was either- I mean she barely did herself.

As the car drove away, she watched her fade away too. She then knew that she had to come up with a plan to get to her before she lost her again for God knows how long this time. So as Kristen got closer to Jade's house with her car, the idea finally came to her. The plan was that as soon as she got dropped off, she was going to run up to her room, make it look like she's ready for the beach, take the first bus to go & find her and hope that she'd still be there by then. When the car had finally pulled up at her house, she said bye to the girls, while making it seem as though she was in no rush to go out again. After nonchalantly unlocking her house door and closing the door behind her, she jolted upstairs and started to execute her plan.

After rushing around her room and making sure that she looked good enough to be seen by her again, she finally ran out the door. But as she took her first step outside, the rain starts to pour down. Jade then looked up at the grey clouds and sarcastically said;

"Great! Just what I needed."

There was no way that Rose would still be there and let her book get all wet. She was obviously not going to be there if she went back. Jade then got discouraged and grumbled as she went back inside and climbed back up to her room. What if that was really the last time she'd get to experience a connection like that? What if she really does stay single for the rest of her life? She then sat at her desk and started to think about what to do before saying to herself;

"You know what? I'm going to go back to that beach every single day until I find her again! I'm not giving up that easily."

And so she did just that.

But after 4 days of Rose not being there, she already felt like giving up.

Until she found something laying on the sand.

It was a poster for a huge beach party that was going to be thrown at the same beach she was at. This just might be the reason why she reconnects with her crush again. She had to go tell her friends about the event though, so that she could avoid ending up alone if Rose didn't show up. But she wanted to stay positive regardless and hope that somewhere out there,

she would hear about the party

and find her again.
