Things went dark for a period of time. God knows how much time had gone by. But there were still sounds of people partying in the other rooms so it couldn't have been too long. It sure felt like it though.

So Jade reluctantly stood up and walked over to the mirror. Her eyes practically seemed lifeless. What was even left of her life at that point? She lost her friends, a guy that actually respected her and a girl she obviously still had feelings for. And out of everyone she wanted to talk to in that moment, Rose was the one that stood out to her most. And sure she might have told her to take care, but she was too broken not to try and reach out anyway. She already felt as though she had nothing left to lose.

Sitting on the front steps of the house party, Jade blankly stared at what some drunk people were doing outside while she waited for Rose, who responded quite well to her drunken call. Typically, watching drunk people do stupid things would always get a laugh out of Jade. But this time, it seemed like the only one who could cheer her up was still on the way. But time felt like it was passing too slow and Jade was getting more and more lonely with every minute spent alone.

Suddenly, a girl walked down the steps of the party and sat next to her. It was Samantha. Jade wasn't too sure how to feel about her being there but at least she wasn't alone anymore.

"Your friend totally ruined our moment in there.", she joked, pulling out her cigarettes.

Jade then let out a small laugh. But quickly got sad again.

"Not my friend anymore..", Jade answered, looking down.

"Damn. Wasn't much of a friend to begin with then, huh?", Samantha answered, lighting up a cigarette.

Jade then started to think. Maybe she was right. Why else would she just be so quick to leave her then? Did the friendship even mean much to her to begin with?

"You know what? You're probably right.", Jade said, trying to lift herself back up.

Samantha then took a puff and turned over to Jade before seductively blowing the smoke out on her, leaving Jade in a small trance.

And before she knew it, she was staring at Samantha's mouth and leaning closer towards her. Their lips met again. But this time, they kissed more slowly. Sure, the cigarette breath was bothering her a bit, but kissing was nice. And so they kept kissing each other on the front steps.

Until suddenly, a car horn made her jump. It was Rose. And Jade's heart started to race. And she couldn't tell if it was because of her feelings for her or because she got caught kissing another girl. I mean it wasn't like they were together though, right?

Walking towards the car, Jade practically ignored Samantha and just left her sitting there. Luckily, she didn't seem to care.

"You're welcome!", Sam yelled.

Jade then turned around, walking backwards towards the car, smiled shyly and waved, before turning back towards Rose's car to get inside of it.

"Who was that?", Rose asked, as Jade shut the car door.

"Oh just some random girl I met at the party.", Jade answered, putting on her seat belt, trying to keep her cool.

"Oh. I see.", she replied, starting the car again.

"Wait." Jade started, looking at Rose's red cheeks.

"Are you jealous?", Jade teased, smiling at her.

Rose then looked over at her and smiled back.

"I mean it's not like we're together, right?", Rose answered, looking back at the road, trying to hide her facial expressions.
