Chapter 9: End Game

Em

It's been three days since I sent my troops out to get us more food, but they haven't returned yet. It was starting to make me anxious not having them here, but it makes it worse that we were running out of food. I know a lot of the Wendigos were starting to wonder why we didn't attack the village that was just down the from God's Hand. But I had my reason why.

"Em." I hear breaking my thoughts. "Their back." I hear making me turn to see three broken, hurt Wendigos came back to camp but I know I sent out at less ten. I huff as I walk over to them, "Where have you been? It's been three days! Where are the others, where's M?" I ask. One of the Wendigo didn't even look at me, she just kept her head down. I push past her and walk to the taller of the Wendigos, I've lost count of the names around here, some were just to similar, like mine and M's name. "Where is M?" I ask again getting on my tiptoes so I'm close to his eye level. I may be small but they knew how powerful I was, how different I was from the other Wendigos.

"They got him. The Chosen ones and their pets." He tells me making me growl, M was strong, he was my partner... How did they get him? They've never gotten him before, how did this happen? "Which one got him?" I ask trying to control my anger but I knew it wasn't going to happen any time soon, I was pissed. "The one that controls ice." He says making my head snap back, that bastard got him? Out of all the Chosen ones out there, it had to be him. I scream as I jump on the tall Wendigo twisting around until I was on his back with my legs wrapped around his neck. I placed my long fingers around his head as I pull it off making his body drop and I land on my feet throwing his head outside.

"Useless, all of you are useless! I let you join my group, my team, so we can get food, to survive." I yell as I look around my camp, it was getting smaller and smaller each day. "How you all survived the last eleven years is beyond me." I hiss. I look at the girl that come with the tall one. "You." I point making her snap her head at me, Wendigo are not to support to show fear, but I knew I was scaring this girl. "Did you see what happened to M?" I ask making her shake her head, "No... We were busy trying to get away. We just saw him, frozen." She ask. I narrow my eyes and grab her throat, "Then there is no reason to keep you around." I say starting squeeze and pull.

"Wait! Wait!" She yells making me stop. "The ice boy, he is looking for you!" She yells. I smirk, "Oh really?" She tries to nod her head, "I... overheard, the humans talk." She whimpers. I release her throat making her cough as I walk outside the cave and looked over the village that held the ice boy.

"So... You finally found a way to find me?" I say into the wind seeing the village start to shine form the sun trying to come back. It's been so long since I last saw him, but I still remember, I remember the fear in his eyes when he saw me. "Em, come back the sun is rising." I hear someone yell behind me. I let out a laugh as the sun started to slowly go towards the ends of the cliff. "Don't worry Jackson, tonight, I'll come to you, you don't need to waste your energy looking for me." I start to walk back into the cave before the sun got me as one of the Wendigo start to push a rock over the cave hole.

"I'll see you tonight, big brother."

Jack

I kept looking at my hand that were intertwined with Elsa's, she was keeping me calm, strong even. I didn't know how to start or who should start first. "I... I don't know how to start." I hear Elsa say making me look at her finally. "Yeah, I don't either." I laugh making her smile. "But.... I feel like I should go first. I haven't been honest with you since you came into my life and I... I don't like lying to you anymore." I say. I feel her squeeze my hand tighter. "Elsa." I whisper moving closer to her placing my free hand on her cheek as a tear fell from her eye. "I'm sorry. I'm.. I'm so scared." She whispers.
