"Where were you?" Callisto asks me with crossed arms while lightly tapping his foot on the ground.
"I was uh...getting the key," I stutter. This is true, but it's not the full story, not even close to it.
"Took you long enough, and you said that I was slow," he sighs, taking the keys from me.
We enter our little apartment space, which is cute and cozy. It has earthy tones, cream walls with accents of greens and browns. It even has a little brown chair that looks like it's made of twigs and leaves that hangs from the wall. "This is perfect!" I say with a ton of enthusiasm.
Callisto turns to me with wide eyes. "Um, are you okay?"
"I'm more than okay!" I jump around, feeling better than ever. It's funny, I'm dead, but I feel so alive.
Callisto walks over to me and randomly slaps me across the face. "Wake up!"
I touch my face in pain. "What was that for?"
"Did it not work?" he questions while squinting at me.
"What are you doing?"
"What are you doing? When did you get so energetic and upbeat? It's kind of creeping me out."
I pout. "What happen to you saying that I needed to be more energetic and upbeat?"
"You took it to a new level. I mean, I'm glad you're happy, I just wasn't ready for...this."
"Someone sounds bitter," I mummer with a confident smile.
"I'm not bitter, I'm happy here too! I mean, I get to gawk at that gorgeous Gabriel," he smiles.
Whenever Gabriel's name is mentioned, my heart skips a beat and I get so excited. By accident, I let out a little laugh thinking about him.
"What was that?" Callisto questions with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't know what you're talking about?" I lie.
"You laughed. You laughed like a schoolgirl after she got boned by her crush!" he shouts.
I blush. "Why are your comparisons so specific?"
Callisto gets close to me, analyzing my every moment. He sits there for a moment, and shakes his head in disgust. "You hoe, you did, didn't you?" he whispers bitterly.
I push him back a bit. "I didn't bone him."
"You got boned by him," he interrupts.
"No, let me finish. I went to his office, and he gave me the keys. Although, when he gave them to me, he kissed me too."
His jaw drops. "He kissed you? No, that can't be!"
"Weren't you the one who just thought that he had sex with me? How is this more shocking?"
"I was joking! I didn't think you actually stole my boyfriend!" he panics.
"He's not your boyfriend, he's single, until he becomes mine!" I grin with desire running through my body.
"Connor, you just set yourself up for death!" Callisto growls.
"I'm already dead!" I tease him.
"Whatever, I'm going to bed!" he shouts. He just loves to make a scene. He dramatically shuts off the lights, and struts to the far bed with sass.
"Never go to bed angry!" I say to annoy him. He doesn't respond, so I just begin to get ready for bed. I gaze at the mirror, and smile when I see Gabriel's shirt that he gave me. I take it off, and fold it nicely on the dresser. I pull my pants down quick and get into bed. I'm definitely one who can't sleep with clothes on, it gets way too hot! I sit in bed, thinking about the kiss, and smiling like a little kid as I think about it. Not that I've ever told Callisto, but I've never kissed anyone before, so this was so big for me. It only took me nineteen years, but I finally did it! Happily, I roll over to face Callisto's side of the bed, and when I roll over, I jump out of fear.
