"I didn't kill your brother!" Gabriel yells back.

"You might as well have!" Uriel growls. She's a whole foot shorter than him, yet she's much more intimidating somehow.

"Michael is the one-!"

"Who cut off your wings, yeah I got that. He hurt you, I know. That's the whole reason I let you in, I felt bad for you. Never did I imagine that being so nice to someone would get my brother killed," she interrupts.

"Michael is the one that set those three free! He's the reason for everything!" Gabriel yells.

"They broke out themselves! They were pissed that they were about to be sent to Hell because of you. It was because of you that they attacked my brother too. Honestly, I bet you used him as a shield to escape!"

"I would never do that!" Gabriel replies with soft eyes.

I begin analyzing what they're saying. The three that were about to be sent to Hell were the angels from Gabriel's story with Michael. The three angels were Michael's minions that were framed with the Priest's death. Michael must have helped them escape, or they escaped by themselves, to attack Gabriel. Somehow, Uriel's brother ended up dead and Gabriel got his wings too. So far, Uriel has a clear reason to be mad based off what I've heard. It's not exactly Gabriel's fault, but it's suspicious that he obtained his wings and that Uriel's brother died. Why isn't Gabriel telling her what happened? It sounds like she doesn't know how he died or what really went down.

Suddenly a few people run up to Uriel and whisper in her ear. "I'll be right there," Uriel responds.

"Please Uriel!" Gabriel walks toward her.

"I look forward to taking your children in and raising them to be good people." Uriel turns around and rises into air with her pastel pink wings.

"Uriel!" Gabriel tries calling after her, but it's too late. She's gone. He clenched his fist together tightly, and grits his teeth.

I put a hand on his shoulder. "Do you want to talk?"

"We should move on," he mummers.

"We're giving up just like that?" I question.

"She shut us down, what else do you want me to do?" Gabriel responds aggressively.

I widen my eyes, feeling a little attacked. I breathe out and try to remain composed. "I want us to go convince her otherwise. She's not against the idea, she's just against...well, you."

"Thanks, that helps a lot."

"I mean that I think we can change her image of you, or at least get her to our side. If there's a possibility, we need to take advantage of it. Uriel is the guardian angel of patience, and rules a heaven of forgiveness. If anyone is going to forgive you, it's her."

"How is she supposed to forgive me for letting her brother die?" he says in a broken voice.

I look at him with soft hazel eyes. "Will you please tell me what happened? I promise I won't judge you, I only want to help you."

Gabriel eyes me for a long time. "Now that you know most of it anyway, I might as well explain."

I nod, and turn my head around. I see Callisto still doing that weird feeding thing with Raphael and Alejandro. I wonder if they were even paying attention to what was happening. "Let's go into that gingerbread house."
