I pushed the door open to reveal Venessa seated next to Alex's bed.

Her hand in his while she talked lovingly to him. Looking at the way she talked to him. The way her eyes seem to glitter when she smiled.

I wandered how in the world someone like her can ever do something bad but then again I thought the same thing about Stacy. Meh.

I silently step back into the hallway and closed the door behind me, giving them some time alone when my phone vibrated in my pants pocket.

Checking the ID, I saw it was Kiara. Huh. Must have heard from Mia. That girl got some very good stalkerish skills I thought walking to the other end of the hall.

"Hey what's up?"

"Hey. Mia just finished her search."

"Kay. Did she find anything. That is helpful."

"Well so far nothing really but she did suspect there's some missing messages. The dates are off as if deleted."

"Hm... Interesting.... Well ask her to send me all the information she has and to dig around and see if she can find anything else."

"Okay. Where you at?"

"The hospital."

"Oh with Alex? "

"No Venessa's with him right now. I'm out in the hall."

"Oka-oh wait Mia just messaged me. She said........oh no. Alena you might want to come and see this yourself."

"What is it?"

"Yeah I don't think you'd want to here this over the phone. Just meet me at our hideout as soon as possible I'll tell the gang."

*Hangs up*

I stared at my phone for a couple of seconds wandering what was that about.

Snapping out of my daze I began to run down the hallway but stopped dead in my tracks when I glanced throught the window of Alex's door.

Even from the hallway I can hear his abnormally fast heartbeat. There were doctors surrounding him shouting orders to each other.

I couldnt tell exactly what they were doing considering some of them were blocking my view. Feet planted to the ground, my eye doubled in size as my heart stopped.

Venessa was off to the sides facing away as if unable to watch.

His body slipped into view as the doctors rushed to his side to pin him down when he began to struggle, his hand gripping the bar at the side of the bed, knuckles white like snow.

Then suddenly as if in slow motion he went limb. His hands fell from the bars hitting the bed softly. He stopped struggling. His heartbeat stopped leaving only a sound like laser slicing through the silence of the room along with my heart like glass hitting the floor shattering into a million pieces.

My feet could no longer hold me leaving me to crash towards the floor just like my heart.

I couldnt take the pain any longer. All those weeks, months pretending to be fine. Waving off people's concerns about not eating properly. Not getting any sleep. All of it. I couldnt take it any more.....

So I ran. Pathetic. I know. But its all I know how to do. I've been running from my feelings. From my problems for so long, its all I know how to do now.

I ran.
